Dr. Ayelet Hirshfeld, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist, Lacanian psychoanalyst, and trauma expert with more than two decades of clinical experience. She provides individual psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, trauma-focused treatment, EMDR, and psychological assessment for adults, as well as couples and family therapy.
Dr. Hirshfeld specializes in trauma and PTSD, complex trauma, dissociation and dissociative disorders, anxiety and mood disorders, attachment and relational difficulties, and complex clinical presentations. Her approach integrates clinical psychology, Lacanian psychoanalysis, trauma-informed treatment, and EMDR, with careful attention to each person’s history, subjective experience, relationships, unconscious patterns, and goals for treatment.
Treatment is individualized rather than formulaic. Dr. Hirshfeld works with patients not only to address symptoms and immediate difficulties, but also to understand the patterns, meanings, and experiences that may contribute to recurring psychological and relational difficulties.
