Dr. Elyse Bensusan

I’m Dr. Elyse Bensusan, a Columbia-trained clinical psychologist specializing in high-quality neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. My practice is located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side and is dedicated to helping individuals and families understand the full picture of learning, attention, emotional, and developmental challenges — and what to do next. Many of my clients are high-achieving or misunderstood children who appear “fine” on the surface but are struggling beneath — with anxiety, attention issues, learning differences, or twice-exceptionality (2e). I also work with adults navigating ADHD, executive functioning, and career-related stressors. I provide comprehensive evaluations that include testing for ADHD, learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, executive function challenges, giftedness, emotional regulation, and school-related stress. Reports are written clearly and compassionately, with specific recommendations for parents, schools, and therapists. Every evaluation includes an intake session, in-person testing, a detailed written report, and a feedback meeting. I do not offer ongoing therapy; my work is focused on insight and action through expert testing. I accept a limited number of clients per month to ensure a personalized, high-touch experience. My work is trusted by NYC pediatricians, private schools, and educational consultants. I am licensed in New York (License #020126‑01), and I’m the author of Are School Psychologists Prepared to Work with LGBTQ Youth? (available on Amazon). I believe that a well-done evaluation doesn’t just explain what’s hard — it opens the door to what’s possible. Website: www.dr-elysebensusan.com. Email: DoctorBensusan@gmail.com.
