Dr. Jeffrey Mirsky is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist. I work independently at my private practice in San Diego California (also part time Illinois) as I relocated to San Diego. I am extremely adept at treating a variety of psychiatric conditions with the use of complex psychopharmacology. I am up to date with the most up to date cutting edge research and utilize medications artistically for each individual.
I also integrate psychotherapy with psychopharmacology.
I do treat some individuals for weekly psychotherapy with or without medications; it is all dependent on the patient and our teamwork approach to coming up with solutions. Depending on the issue and the individual, I utilize both CBT and or psychodynamic (psychoanalytic) modalities in psychotherapy.
I specialize in the evaluation and treatment of a variety of psychiatric conditions from anxiety disorders (including but not limited to generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorders), mood disorder including bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder. I specialize in ADHD evaluation and treatment.
I also implement health and wellness aspects in treatment as well as utilizing weight loss agents for patients' whom are good candidates for this treatment (exludes anorexia/nervosa)
I also have an expertise in medication interactions, and complex medical illnesses and how to utilize medications safely in this context. While in Chicago, I served on the advisory board at Mayo Clinic Herman House Psychiatry. I was a preferred referral source by the Mayo Clinic for their patients who needed follow up in the Chicago land area.
I also do psychopharmacological consultations from many other psychiatrists to help them get their patients' back on the right track. I have both a California and Illinois medical license. I trained at Rush University Medical Center and was elected Chief Resident and voted by my peers as the most protective advocate of the other residents.
I am very easy going and able to gain quick therapeutic alliances with my patients. As a private practice psychiatrist, I make sure I am easily accessible in between appointments. My practice uses the concierge model (without a yearly fee!) of medicine to give my patients' the attention they deserve.
Currently, I am only practicing with telemedicine and in some cases in person as well. I do not work with insurance companies (I do not accept insurance but we can provide receipts for out of network benefits which some insurance companies honor). I am accepting new patients in the San Diego (Southern California) area.

I thought Dr. Mirsky was a great listener and made me feel calm even though I came into the appointment with a whole list of things I wanted to make sure I told him. He took extra time to do my intake so that I could get everything out. I have felt ignored/not listened to by a lot of providers in the past, and I was nervous that this would be the same. However, it was incredibly refreshing and I came away feeling better than I have about an actual plan for my mental health than I have in years. He is a smart guy and explained symptoms in a way I have never thought about before. I really hope that the pharmacology plan helps, but I honestly believe that if the first medicine I am trying does not work as intended, I will have a great provider in my corner to help me work through challenges until I find something that does work.

I can’t say enough positive things about Dr. Mirsky. I came to him after a year long battle with anxiety and depression that came to a head a few weeks ago. Right off the bat we jumped in to all my history (health, family, et Z). Dr. Mirsky was so thorough and such a compassionate listener. By the end of our call (which went way over an hour by the way) Dr. Mirsky gave me more hope and optimism than I’ve felt in a very long time. He created a go forward plan for me, and thoroughly explained everything. He is probably the most educated doctor I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. His knowledge of pharmaceuticals is unmatched, as well as his understanding of the mind and body. He provided me with his personal phone number, as well as thorough email instructions and lab work.

The most intelligent, thorough and experienced psychiatrist I have ever received treatment from (and I’ve seen several, both on east coast and west coast!) not only is Dr. Mirsky well versed and up to date with pharmacology, he is an exceptional listener, engages in conversation and has such a calm and comfortable demeanor about him. Furthermore, my pharmacist really appreciated the details he provided with the prescriptions and told me she’s never worked with such a thorough and intelligent doctor.
Last but not least, the front desk staff folks are lovely and extremely easy to get I touch with.
I highly advise reaching out to Dr.Mirsky before anyone else. His initial patient intake session may seem pricey, but that’s because he is the BEST and doesn’t treat his patients like just another person in line for a burger at a McDonalds ha.

When I met with Dr. Jeff, I was pretty ragged from a 7-day panic attack. Dr. Jeff was exactly whom I needed to see. He was so warm, empathetic, and understanding. He made me comfortable right away.
