Dr. Messina assesses each person and then collaborates with him or her to determine the type of service that is most appropriate. Many of her patients elect to see her more than once a week to get to the root of their problems. This often incorporates some type of plan for the future. Dr. Messina believes that once roadblocks are removed, the path to a more meaningful life can be realized. Dr. Messina is on the medical staff at Suburban Hospital which is part of Johns Hopkins Medicine. Dr. Messina also has Telehealth video sessions that are available. Please send an email to inquire.

I met with. Dr. Messina, and she was so welcoming and friendly. I was nervous about talking about my issues, since it was my first time seeing a mental health professional, but I was so comfortable and relaxed. We did a video chat, and she helped me out more in an hour more than anyone else has in years. I really recommend speaking with her. She is amazing! Looking forward to more sessions.

I really enjoyed my 1st visit with Dr. Messina. She was easy to open up to, and she asked great questions. I will definitely be returning. Scheduling weekly appointments may be troubling (plus driving to downtown Chevy Chase at rush hour is tough.) If you have a flexible schedule she may be more accommodating.

It was such a relief to find someone like her. She makes me feel very comfortable and I was able to open up a lot of deeper issues. I will be going weekly from now! It's really hard to find a psychologist one feels comfortable sharing with. She's also understanding when it comes to payments and offers different forms of payments.
