Dr. Melanie Joyce Coates, Ed.D., LCPC

Hey sis, I’m Dr. Melanie Joyce Coates, EdD, LCPC. I help Christian women who appear strong on the outside but are quietly carrying anxiety, trauma, grief, and emotional exhaustion. Many of the women I work with are deeply committed to their faith, families, and communities. They serve others well, show up on Sundays, and pour into everyone around them—yet often leave carrying pain they haven’t had a safe place to process. Some are navigating church hurt, unresolved trauma, anxiety that feels difficult to quiet, or the pressure of always being “the strong one.” Others feel overwhelmed by life transitions and silently wonder when they will finally experience peace themselves. I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) and Christian Trauma Therapist who earned a Doctor of Education in Community Care and Counseling with a trauma focus, along with a Master’s degree in Psychology and Counseling. My work is trauma-informed, compassionate, and rooted in helping women renew their minds and break strongholds and unhealthy emotional patterns. I believe, “Transformed thinking gives birth to complete change.” For clients who desire it, faith can be thoughtfully integrated into the counseling process. My goal is to create an **OASIS—Open And Safe InSide—**where you can be honest about your pain, strengthen your emotional health, and begin healing without feeling judged. During our first session, we’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, and begin building a plan for meaningful change. Sis, let's talk. You do not have to carry everything alone.
