DrFyne Counseling and Family Therapy
Therapy begins with a thoughtful exploration of your identity, values, and goals. These elements shape how you see the world, what you protect in relationships, and what you may find yourself arguing or fighting for. This early work naturally opens the door to deeper conversations about family‑of‑origin patterns, communication styles, boundaries, and the learned behaviors that either maintain current challenges or support healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
You will be challenged but never judged. Together, we will address the issues that have interfered with your ability to reach your goals, so you can return to the happier, healthier life you deserve.
Throughout treatment, you can expect to participate in in‑session exercises and complete brief tasks at home designed to reinforce your progress. These activities typically take only a few minutes but play an important role in creating lasting change.
You and your therapist will collaboratively determine when it is time to successfully conclude treatment. Termination is a shared decision, based on your progress, readiness, and confidence in maintaining the gains you’ve achieved.
Dr. Fyneface Ikpo is a dedicated Marriage and Family Therapist who brings a calm, grounded, and deeply relational approach to healing. With advanced clinical training and a doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy, he blends evidence‑based practice with genuine human connection, helping individuals, couples, and families navigate the challenges that shape their emotional and relational lives. His work is rooted in the belief that people thrive when they feel understood, supported, and empowered to rewrite the patterns that no longer serve them.
Before founding DrFyne Counseling and Family Therapy, Dr. Ikpo spent more than two decades serving in the criminal justice system and teaching at the college and graduate levels. These experiences shaped his ability to understand people within the context of their stories, environments, and relationships. Clients often describe him as direct yet compassionate, insightful yet approachable—someone who can challenge them without ever compromising safety or respect.
