Our team in anchored by two board certified physicians, Dr Veena Prabhu and Dr. Prabhu Shivalingappa. Both physicians have been practicing in the Hinsdale area for over 15 years. We are dedicated to excellent care and focus our practice on patient satisfaction.
We see patients 12 y/o and older and specialize in Internal Medicine. We provide routine and urgent care. Both doctors provide gynecologic care for women of all ages.

The office cannot be reached over the phone: they do not pick the phone and do not return the call on the left number - for minimum 4 times. Trying to set up the appointment in person in the office, the male receptionist told me that there was available time for appointment in April only with someone else or with Dr Prahbu, in May. On the website, there were several time point for 04.16.2026 with Dr Prahbu. I took one.

I love seeing Dr Prabhu and all the providers at this pratice, from the muse practitioners to the allergy shot-givers, to the doctors, to the students. I have never had a bad eperience.
I particularly appreciate the suggestion for allergy drops to deal with my seasonal and pet allergies. The drops are an easy solution I can administer myself at home, with occasional visits to the office for quick shots (which is also a great time to remember to make an appointment for any other issues.). I really appreciate the doctor’s suggestion that the allergy shots might alleviate some of my other problems.
The practice is so helpful in helping me take care of my own health. I recommend them to everyone.

I can’t recommend Dr. Prabhu and this office enough! They are so kind, understanding, and incredibly efficient. Both my husband and I are patients here, and the team has gone above and beyond for us, especially when it came to navigating and figuring out our insurance. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and you can truly tell they care about their patients. It’s rare to find a medical office that combines professionalism with such genuine compassion, but this one absolutely does.

Very confusing office. Staff unclear with instructions and sent me to places that were closed. I went in to get blood pressure medicine and they never told me whether they prescribed me something or not and the website shows medicine but not where to pick it up. Overall very poor experience and I would not recommend to anyone. I felt very rushed and they did not take time to listen to what I wanted help with. Seems like they just wanted me out of there as quick as possible

The provider takes a while to review my labs. I still haven't gotten a feedback, prescription or treatment plan regarding my concerns. I followed up with the office and they just told me to wait for a call. I'm feeling ill and I just wait?
Also during my visit the front desk was going to send me home without my labs being done like they didn't review my referrals, I had to remind them. Not very friendly either.

they are pros and want to heal you and actually listen and not hurry you similar to old fashioned dr "s who should be appreciated you are not just another # to them I hold to the past method of dr patient relation and shiva is one of the few I can count on as there is no perfect situation or dr so I like knowing I will not kick the bucket yet in a world of trying to just survive it

I received a request from zocdoc for a review. I’ve been going to DuPage Internal Medicine for two years, Had I received a request back when I started going I would’ve said: the entire staff (at least with whom I have interacted) is friendly. Both Dr. Prabhu and Dr. Shivalingappa are extremely knowledgeable, competent, and caring. “Like” - they actually care. My adult son is also a patient there. Whenever Dr. Shivingappa sees me he always asks how my son is doing. I have seen Candace, Erika, & Jennifer the nurse practitioners All of them are fantastic. I know this all sounds surreal, a medical group that are smart, caring, and compassionate. Wow - right?!
This visit was with Jennifer, APN. She truly listened to my concerns. Even looked into something from my last visit (I had forgotten). She suggested some testing and sent off the script. I got a call from the testing center the next day to schedule an appointment! If you’re looking for great care - fast - look no further!
