El Paso Spine Center
We specialize in minimally invasive spinal surgery of the neck and back. We as a team aim to provide the best possible care to our patients with minimal recovery times so that they may live happily and pain-free. Because minimally invasive surgery uses a very small incision (usually about 1/2 inch in diameter), it reduces damage to surrounding tissue and muscles as compared to traditional surgical techniques. It also means that recovery times are greatly reduced and there is less pain after surgery. Minimally invasive surgery may be right for you if more conservative treatments have not helped to reduce your pain.

The good: The Dr. has outstanding bedside manners, he listens patiently and explains everything clearly.
I felt very comfortable and will most definitely recommend him. I will visit with him again.
His background in advanced minimally invasive techniques is the primary reason I went to visit him for my neck and lower spine trauma.
Most of the office staff is friendly and knowledgeable, but I did not come to see them I came to see the Dr.
The bad: The only only suggestion I have is the amount of paperwork. It is redundant, and inflexible. i.e. can only have one emergency contact, have to write your name, dob, etc over and over and over. Perhaps these forms could be consolidated into one.

I have to Dr Smith a few times before; he has always presented himself friendly and very professional. The office has a receptionist that is a chatter box, continuously talking and loud. Because of the long waiting times she should be a bit more reserved with respect to the patients. The laughter gets out of hand at times.

Dr. Smith did neck surgery 20 years ago that relieved severe pain, so I knew when I needed back surgery. He was the one to do it. After back surgery I am pain free again. It is a joy to wake up every morning and be able to get up and going without pain. God blessed me with a wonderful surgeon that fixed my spine pain twice.
