Empathy Wellness Center

Christopher Jackson, MD, decided to establish Empathy Wellness Center based on his own dissatisfaction with current psychiatric care including gaps in access for at-risk groups and rushed appointments leading to patients feeling unheard and experiencing sub-optimal outcomes. Dr. Jackson’s vision is for all patients to feel empowered to partner with their provider in creating a treatment plan that results in optimal mental health. At Empathy, we believe in patient-centered care and fostering healing through a blend of expertise and genuine compassion—everyone deserves care with kindness. Our core expertise is in treating anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders and suicidal ideation. We treat many patients who experience dual diagnosis or have diagnoses they may not understand or agree with but just want to partner with a provider who takes the time to get the right diagnosis and, most importantly, get the right treatment plan for a more fulfilling, healthy life. We offer virtual and in-person (Alexandra, VA) appointments.

A little confusing with LifeStance. I never got forms to complete before appointment or link, had to call and have one sent which made me late to my appointment. Dr. Jackson was great, spoke clearly in a way I felt comfortable. He was also a great listener. He made me feel heard and understood. I will definitely continue seeing him.

Dr. Jackson is very knowledgeable and a really good listener. The only issue I had is that the appointment seemed very clinical and robotic. He asked all the relevant questions, but I felt he was awkward and did not mirror my emotions. He seems very capable medically speaking but he has a tough personality to warm up to.

I had a great overall experience with Dr, Jackson and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a Psychiatrist! The first thing that impressed me was his availabilities with first time patient appointments! I needed an appointment and he had one within a matter of days, whereas everyone else in the area did not have appointments for months! The next thing that impressed me was his immediate bedside manner and his willingness to listen to everything I had to say! I felt heard and felt like I was actually a person rather than an object being talked at and I felt like I was apart of my care!
