Dr. Ton is a Psychiatrist and specializes in treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions from depression and anxiety to schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. After his father was diagnosed with PTSD, Dr. Ton's devoted his life to be a leader in mental health care. Relentlessly in pursuit of more medical knowledge as psychiatry evolves and prudent to keeping an open mind to new ideas and innovations. He compassionately treats each patient if they were a family member.
Dr. Ton was born in Chicago, Illinois, but his life and education was robust and various - extending from coast to coast. His career started in 2004 where he pursued his years degrees in Molecular and Microbiology while volunteering at a local hospital. He trained as a psychiatric resident in Florida through USF's Morsani College of Medicine affiliated hospitals and pursued further education for treatment of psychiatric patients during the peripartum period (of psychiatric disorders period before, during and after pregnancy. For this reason, physicians in the community including from Tampa General Hospital (TGH) often refers this subspecific patient population to Dr. Ton during this period. In addition, Dr. Ton has Forensic Psychiatry experiences through his rotations through the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville and Jacksonville. Moreover, he has a Family Medicine background from Georgia where he lived and trained for 6 years.
Dr. Ton personal beliefs are rooted in compassion, excellence and serving his community. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Associations and is registered with the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. He passionately gives back to his community by volunteering as a medical staff for events like the Special Olympics or a local school sports event. He loves animals and hopes to establish an animal sanctuary saving animals from areas hit by natural disasters. He also loves teaching and has secured teaching position at multiple institution including Emory University and University of Central Florida. He participates in research trials for emerging mental health treatments (le. most recent: 331-201-00080: A Multicenter, Randomized, Double-bihd Trial). He founded Evolve Behavioral Medicine in 2020. In 2021, Dr. Ton joined the Tampa Neuropsychiatry to help lead and bring, along with Dr. Faizi Ahmed, their expertise and first-rate neurological and psychiatric care to their local communities.. After successfully building up a BayCare associated TMS Clinic in the St. Petesburg community, he finally decide to go full time into his private practice. He created Evolve Behavioral Medicine so he can practice medicine and psychiatry he believes without the cooperate influence many physicians find themselves stuck in. He believes being able to stick to his ethical principles while providing excellent care is one of his greatest achievements.
