For more than 35 years, Eye Associates of Washington has been providing eye care to the families of Washington Metropolitan area. Our philosophy is to provide top-notch medical treatment in a warm and caring atmosphere. Many of our patients and staff have developed long- term relationships, and are routinely on a first name basis. In addition to providing state-of–the art medical and surgical eye care, Eye Associates of Washington continues to give back to the D.C. Metropolitan community through resident training and charity work. Both offices are wheelchair accessible. Our expertise includes Cataract surgery with advanced lens technology, Glaucoma, Cornea, Laser Vision Correction, Contact Lens, Dry Eyes, a variety of cosmetic & upper eyelid and facial surgery. We are one of the most experienced in the areas of Botox™ and injectable dermal fillers.

I was impressed by the service and thoroughness what I did not appreciate was that I was asked to pay an extra to get my eyeglass prescription?! What? I made an eye exam visit specifically for that - my insurance covers this — they have the results from what they charge the insurance for this service and then they want to collect for you yo pay for the written result?! Not good!

I had to call this office to make sure my appointment was showing up from ZocDoc since I believe they’re having some problems sync’ing with them—but once I did, I was scheduled at my selected time with no problem. The doctor and staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the visit was overall a very good experience.
The doctor was very knowledgable and friendly. However, when I walked in, the office did not have a record of my appointment. They said this was a recurring problem with Zocdoc , but they didn't say they were trying to fix it. They weren't sure if they could take me initially, but when I said it was an emergency, they accommodated me. They warned me that there would be a delay.
Dr. Ashburn and his office staff were all so great - there was a mix up with my appointment time and they still managed to see me and were really kind, easy to work with, and informative.

Be careful with this doctor as the in-network coverage that appears in his profile is misleading and incorrect. His profile says that Aetna is an In-network insurance; however his office is claiming that Aetna is Out-of-network after I saw that Doctor. Now I do not know what to do as Aetna does not want to cover the bill.

I was very anxious about this appointment, and a little bit nervous about picking a doctor off of Zach doc without a personal recommendation, but I am so glad I did. He was an excellent practitioner, outstanding bedside manner, and I felt very comfortable and confident with his assessment and recommendations. The staff were very good, and I appreciated the pandemic precautions that were in place.
