I have been a patient of Eyes of the World and Dr. Channing Baird for more than 25 years. I keep coming back because the care I receive is always thoughtful and kind. I feel seen (no pun intended) as an individual patient without my own unique optical history and needs.

Office staff was extremely rushed and rude even though I showed up on time. They didn’t review what I would owe or whether my insurance was accepted until I explicitly asked. The doctor was great, only complaints is with the office experience as a new patient.

Great team. Super lovely.
Dr. Channing was professional and straightforward and answered all of my questions. Short appointment as my prescription doesn’t change as much. The office was clean and lovely.
A note on parking: is street parking so do give yourself extra time to find a parking spot in a busy area and even without being busy it was difficult.

Dr. Johnson was great - very attentive to my concerns. He reviewed and explained my retina scan (though nothing was wrong) which was very helpful and felt like I was being educated about my own eyes. His staff was also very professional and easy to speak to.

Massive improvement upon my old eye doctor and opticians. Not only was the doctor very professional, experienced, and friendly, but every single member of staff I interacted with went out of their way to be helpful and make sure I knew exactly what I would be getting, what it would cost, and why. They accepted my insurance, and when my insurance didn’t cover as much as expected, the optician was so genuine and cared a lot to get the price down for me. He walked me through what he was doing as he was working on it and was able to help me get exactly what I needed at the price point I had in mind! Also the office is very charming; it’s in a beautiful big old historic house across from City Park, right in a cozy nice neighborhood.

Went in on Halloween. Wonderful experience! Was able to get glasses that I didn’t think I’d be approved for, or that I’ve worn in over thirty years. Everyone was festive and Doc was an absolute professional.

I had the BEST experience and highly recommend Dr. Johnson. Great bedside manners and very knowledgeable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Athena was an absolute angel and helped me picked gorgeous glasses. I also want to point out that everyone was ready for me when I got there and it’s probably one of the first times I didn’t have to wait at all at a doctors appointment!

Dr. Gene was very kind and patient! However, the person that saw me first and did my initial eye exam truly made the experience. She was so kind and welcoming. She was clearly an expert, but communicated results in a way I could understand. Sincerely the best customer service I've ever received. I'd recommend her a hundred times over!
