Dr. Shimonova and Dr. Katz met at NYU College of Dentistry on the first day of orientation and have been together ever since. They built this dental office on the foundation of love and respect, striving to provide those same values to every patient they treat.

Dr. Katz is the best. He takes time to listen to your concerns and you can tell he cares about his patients. I had a big cavity on my upper right molar and he told me he didn’t have to do a crown. Instead we did an onlay. He was able to print the onlay and it only took one appointment! Highly recommend. If you’re in Flatiron, this is the place to be

I saw Dr. Katz for a crown. I have terrible dental and needle anxiety, and I informed the staff that this anxiety is so bad I’ll avoid visits or just cry. When I met Dr. Katz, not only was he incredibly patient with me, but the procedure was also painless. It also helps that the office is a state-of-the-art, modern practice. To avoid multiple visits, the crown was made the same day. Instead of taking extra time out of my busy schedule and risking a second anxiety attack, I was there for about 90 minutes and received treatment, all in one visit. The office is beautiful and very clean, and the staff—from the front desk to the dental assistants—are all very friendly. They also took the time to walk me through each step of the procedure, guiding me on how to book and what to expect, and were very patient with me. I’ll definitely be back to continue my dental work. :)

Dr. Shimonova has been my dentist for over 3 years now and I would give her my highest recommendation. She is personable and honest and truly takes the time to listen to your concerns instead of just pushing treatment on you. She is a perfectionist (which I appreciated when she was fixing my broken front tooth) and has top of the line 3D technology in the office so I didn’t have to have any gooey impressions for my appointment.
In a city full of chain dental offices that don’t know your name or care about your specific concerns, Flatiron Family Dental is a refreshing reminder of what healthcare should be. The attention to detail and quality work is one of a kind and my family and I will be patients for life!
