Dr. Ozkarahan is honestly the best psychiatrist I’ve ever had. You can tell she really cares. She takes her time with evaluations and makes sure the medication is appropriate. She spends a lot of time with the patient and meets frequently when starting new meds. She also takes a holistic approach helping with nutrition and exercise as well as taking a therapeutic approach. I cannot recommend Dr.Ozkarahan enough! When looking for someone to help with my anxiety, her bio immediately caught my attention. Dr. Ozkarahan is one of the real psychiatrists out there in the sea that is NYC. If you are looking for a pragmatic psychiatrist who keeps up with new treatment types, doesn't lazily push the same thing and genuinely understands balancing mental health and busy lifestyles then I would opt for Dr. Ozkarahan. I found Dr. Ozkarahan when I experienced intense anxiety for the first time at 22. She quickly addressed both the issues in the moment and focused on longer term solutions. I've been a patient of Dr. Ozkarahan's for about eight years. I first saw her weekly, as I was adjusting to a new SSRI prescription for anxiety that I probably had all my life. During our sessions, I appreciated Dr. Ozkarahan's ability to make connections between different experiences in my life and help me understand and recognize my patterns of behavior. I would always end a session feeling a little bit lighter. I eventually stopped medicating because I felt like I was steady enough to taper off, but I continued seeing Dr. Ozkarahan on a monthly basis. These sessions were helpful for "reality checking" my feelings and reactions, especially during the pandemic. One overall thing I will take away from my sessions with Dr. Ozkarahan is that it's not only okay, it's normal and essential, to advocate for myself. I have been a patient of Dr. Ozkarahan’s for about 5 years. I was fairly new to therapy starting out and struggling with ADHD. She helped guide those early sessions and I soon felt very at ease opening up and talking to her. Dr. Ozkarahan is a really great listener and gives helpful insight. She provides a whole body approach to therapy, that for me has included talk therapy, medication management, nutrition, exercise, yoga, and meditation. It was incredibly easy to make an appointment and all the new patient information was clear and concise. Being able to do video sessions while COVID has been going on has been a huge benefit to me. She is always on time for her video sessions and I know she is fully engaged in our sessions for the full appointment. Dr. Ozkarahan is an incredible doctor. I began seeing her when I moved to NYC and could no longer travel the 3 hours for appointments twice a year. It was time sensitive due to the daily medication I take, and she was able to see me quickly. I was nervous to see a new doctor as I had been seeing my previous one for almost 10 years, but Dr. Ozkarahan made it very easy to feel comfortable and confident in her abilities as a psychiatrist. After an accident during a vacation, I developed an anxiety disorder that went without treatment for 1 year. When I saw Dr. Ozkarahan, she prescribed some medicine and recommended yoga and mindfulness meditation, which now I practice regularly. As I felt better, she gradually reduced the medicine until I stopped taking it. During the treatment, I read some books about how to overcome anxiety/negativity and develop a more realistic/positive attitude in life. I enjoyed discussing those topics with Dr. Ozkarahan. I really enjoy speaking to Dr. Ozkarahan and I appreciate her therapy style. Rather than just letting me talk the whole time, she gives helpful feedback and encourages me to think differently about certain situations that make me anxious, uncomfortable, sad or upset. She understands common scenarios that 20-something year olds face as well. Boyfriends & love lives, job and school stress, and family and friend drama are all topics that we address and that she has helped me work though. Finally, she is committed to physical health as much as mental and emotional, which is really important. I would absolutely recommend seeing her!

Moreover she seems to be able to pinpoint the real issues and ask the right questions. It can be difficult to find a psychiatrist that you feel comfortable with right away. I did not have that issue with Dr. Ozkarahan. She is very professional and handles any administrative tasks related to your visit upfront and from there goes into the session. She has never been even a minute late and the waiting room is clean and comfortable. During the session, Dr. Ozkarahan helps to guide you through conversation if you are uncomfortable opening up right away/it's your first time in therapy. After a few sessions, you will feel at ease interacting with her. Highly recommended.
I've been seeing Dr. Ozkarahan as a therapist for a few months to accompany an antidepressant I'm taking. I find her to be very insightful, and interactive without making any part of our sessions about her. So far, it's been very easy to share openly with her about anything, something I haven't been able to do with other therapists.
