Went in for a cleaning. Staff were helpful and kind. Dr Fishkin performed the cleaning. She explained what she was doing as she treated me and was open to answering any of my questions. I did not feel rushed. I will admit that the clinic isn't a beautiful/grand-looking space, but it's clean and the care by the team was excellent, so please don't let that make you nervous.
Staff were very friendly. I thought the receptionist was very professional and respectful. . . However, My cleaning took 10 mins after I had waited for hours. I do a better job cleaning my teeth myself. She tried to pressure me into agreeing to a route canal, wanted to perform it on the spot, and said that I might need 4 of them when previous providers never mentioned this. She was not interested in the health or wellbeing of my mouth. Only excited about the prospect of drilling into my gums. Never again.

The Dentist is very upfront about what is going on, but seems in a hurry. I’ve never experienced pain when a dentist used the ultrasonic tool before, this time I was holding back tears just trying to get through it all. I have a terrible gag reflex and when they took the X-rays it’s like it was my fault and they were so impatient about it though, like I have a choice to gag or not. When she told me I had a cavity I said I was surprised she said “really you’re surprised?!” And acted like I’ve never brushed my teeth. I didn’t have dental insurance for many years so I wasn’t able to afford going to the dentist until just recently. She didn’t seem to want to discuss anything or explain much, which again leads to me saying she seemed in a hurry to get to the next patient. I will say though, even though I need to go back for a deep cleaning to get back up to speed with dentist care, that my teeth were very clean, I just hope they use numbing agents or something next time, or apply it better if they did use it.

I saw Margarita Fishkin on January 4th, 2021 (two days ago) - I had called during the holidays, and where several other offices wouldn't return my calls or couldn't see me until (at the earliest) January 23, I booked with Dr. Fishkin easily on Zoc Doc for the earliest appointment after the holidays. I had two cavities filled, and a deep cleaning - I hadn't been to the dentist in over a year. She and her staff were helpful, lovely, and while receiving fillings are never fun, she made it as bearable as possible. Always asked if I was comfortable, offered clear instructions, and helped me plan how to best care for my teeth moving forward. Listened to any questions or concerns I had. The front desk staff were also epic. As a new patient they helped me understand what my insurance covered, and guided me through every step. My insurance is also a little company out of Utah, so if this office covers me, they likely cover some other little ones too. All to say, a few days after, my fillings feel great, my teeth feel clean, and I'm so happy I finally found a good dentist in NYC. Special shout out to her assistant Zara (I think I spelled that correctly?) - kindest doctor I have ever had in my life. I'll update this if I ever find an issue with the fillings, but currently - incredibly grateful for this office and Dr. Fishkin.

First, the doctor didn’t wait for the anesthesia to work, so I was in pain when she first started. Being told throughout that I needed to keep my eyes closed (even when they were closed) because she had sharp tools was anxiety inducing. I got a total of three fillings done. They still hurt a month after I got them. I went to another dentist and they found that one of the fillings was cracked. Dr. Fishkin and her staff are nice, but it was the most uncomfortable I have ever been at a dental office.

After not being able to visit the Dentist in a few years due to insurance reasons, she gave me a detailed plan to improve and maintain my dental health. Dr. Fishkin is one of the best dentists I've ever been to! She is extremely skilled and professional. My cleaning, fillings and root canal were all done painlessly, thoroughly and quickly. I’m not wary of the dentist at all, but this was the strangest visit I’d ever had. The X-rays took forever and they were extremely painful, it seemed like the dental assistants didn’t really know how to do it. I suffer from a jaw disorder and this whole situation just made it worse. They wanted to give me 4 fillings that very same day! I said no and left as fast as I could. I ended up going to cascade dental spa to see dr. Beaty later in the year and I had a phenomenal experience. Glad I trusted my gut.

The dr was 30 minutes late and I was the first appointment of the day. She was not upfront with treatment options until it was too late and the cost was not laid out until it was over. She was rough and caused lots of pain.

Dr Fishkin is our family dentist for a reason: she is THE BEST. I came this time for a cleaning but intense pain in what seemed like the front of my tooth. She fixed everything beautifully and she saved my tooth from a root canal, which I'm sure a different dentist wouldn't bother to do. I actually look forward to see the dentist now! Now THAT'S something!
