Great Lakes Psychology Group
Welcome to my page! I have often been excitedly told by prior clients that I'm "different" from previous therapists that they have worked with & that they feel comfortable with me - and trust me - quickly...I also believe that I am different from the "traditional" or "stereotypical" therapist in many ways! This could be because I am less "formal" or "buttoned up", creating a relaxed environment & my sense of humility puts others at ease in an environment that can often feel very vulnerable and intimidating. Your feelings of comfort and emotional safety are my number 1 priority as we begin to build our therapeutic relationship.
My strongest areas of expertise include trauma (simple & complex), depression, and anxiety. However, these are not the only needs that I address. I am very passionate about working with LGTBQIA+ individuals & have experience working with clients who identify as transgender, gay, bisexual, pansexual, nonbinary, and gender fluid.
My approach is integrative as I tailor treatment to your individual needs by using techniques from a variety of different therapeutic models. I most often use techniques from CBT, CPT, & REBT but also draw from body-focused/somatic approaches, ACT, mindfulness, IFS & the flash technique. I am always working from a trauma-informed & culturally sensitive lens.
