At Great Smiles of La Mesa, Dr. Sherin Johnson and her dental team are interested in changing your traditional view by providing a modern, comprehensive dental experience. We realize no one is hopping and skipping into the dental office and we are determined to show you that your dental health is important and may actually be fun. We are focused on preventative dentistry as well as patient education. What does that mean? Preventative meaning we would rather be proactive, than reactive, avoiding infection and pain. Education meaning we want you to be apart of the decision process in your dental treatment as it is your body and your health. We do a complimentary 3D scan where you get to see what the dentist sees. We look forward to showing you the modern advances and comforts in dentistry and can't wait to meet you!

Crazy fun environment. A modern office with the most up to date technology. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely going back to get the work done that was brought to my attention. With the insurance coverage and out of pocket expenses it was reasonable and affordable. Go check them out.

Scheduled an emergency dental appointment online for 1pm 5/15/2025. Super excited to get out of pain. Then they called me and said the dentist is leaving early for continuing education training. I told them that I am in pain and my mouth is swollen. If they need me to come in earlier then I’ll make whatever they can give or wait unit 1. They said ok she busy so the earliest would have to the 5/19/2025. Why have the appointment available if you can’t make it and then try to schedule me 4 days later. Outrageous. She said it’s a request not an appointment. Why does it say your upcoming appointment with a date and time and what to bring. I print out all my appointments. Does that look like a request to you?

Literally the best dentist I've ever been to. Dr. Johnson listened to my concerns. Never judged me and truly made sure I was comfortable. I hated any reason for going to the dentist, but here... Dr. Johnson made me feel seen and heard. Above the kindness... she was so transparent with procedures and was extremely professional. I am so appreciative of Dr. Johnson. And that goes for her staff as well. Her staff is phenomenal! So kind and professional and they made the process go by so fast.

They were nice but getting freaking a bazillion text message from you guys was ridiculous. The office itself was great. The staff was great. I just don’t need a 50 billion text messages saying that I have an appointment and then demanding all these things for me which was kind of ridiculous love the office don’t care for the provider that I went through to make the appointment

Based on my experience this is a cosmetic clinic NOT an actual dental clinic that addresses oral health. My tooth abscess and dental pain was not a priority
I fact it was never mentioned before I pointed it out (after two hours!) they focused on selling Invisalign and dental implants. I’m a BSN, RN in two countries and from what I have been taught addressing pain and infection should always be a priority
