Working with Dr. Valentin was life-changing for me. She’s a great listener, and was very adept and reframing/broadening my thinking on situations that I previously thought I’d examined from every possible angle. She was an integral part of a journey that saw me process recent and not-so-recent trauma, make several major life decisions, reframe relationships with family members, develop more trust and confidence in my own decision-making, and accept myself. I only stopped seeing her because I relocated, but I’ve carried the lessons from my time in therapy with me since. I appreciated her ability to speak to complex dynamics with nuance and sensitivity. Also, she always took thorough notes, so I very rarely needed to repeat myself from session to session. I always felt heard, but not judged. Even better, I learned how to not be so judgmental towards myself. She’s set the bar extraordinarily high for any therapist I might engage in the future, and I’ll forever be grateful to her.
