In Situ Counseling & Coaching
In Situ Counseling & Coaching is a fully virtual therapy practice built around a simple but often overlooked idea: meaningful change happens within the context of your actual life, not outside of it.
“In situ” means “in the original place.” In therapy, this reflects the understanding that patterns, stress, and emotional responses do not exist in isolation. They show up in your routines, your relationships, your work, and the environments you move through every day. Because of that, change tends to be more effective when it is explored and practiced within those same spaces, rather than only talked about in theory.
This shapes how the work is approached.
Rather than focusing only on symptom relief or insight, therapy centers on understanding how your patterns function in real time. What they are doing for you, where they come from, and why they continue even when they feel frustrating or unhelpful. Many people are already aware of their patterns. The difficulty is not a lack of insight, but feeling stuck in knowing what is happening without a clear way to shift it.
Sessions are structured to move beyond that point.
The approach is grounded in client centered and Reality Therapy principles, with an emphasis on clarity, personal responsibility, and practical change that fits within your actual life. The work is collaborative, direct when needed, and paced in a way that allows change to feel sustainable rather than forced.
There is also an intentional focus on avoiding a common gap in therapy where conversations stay abstract or disconnected from day to day experience. The goal is to make sessions feel relevant to what you are actively navigating, not just something you reflect on after the fact.
Clients commonly seek support for:
-Anxiety and ongoing stress
-Overthinking and difficulty making decisions
-Burnout and mental fatigue
-Relationship and communication challenges
-ADHD related patterns such as focus and follow through
-Life transitions and shifting roles
-A general sense that something feels off, even if it is hard to define
The practice works with adults across different stages of life, including college students, early career professionals, and individuals managing increasing personal or professional demands.
Because services are fully virtual, therapy is able to take place in the environments where your patterns already exist. This often allows for a more immediate connection between what is discussed in session and how it shows up in your day to day life. It also removes common barriers such as commuting and scheduling constraints, making it easier to stay consistent over time.
Appointments are available evenings and weekends to better align with real world schedules.
The overall focus of the practice is not just to help you feel better temporarily, but to help you understand yourself in a way that leads to clearer choices, more consistent follow through, and changes that actually hold outside of session.
