Inner Compass Counseling

It is strange and painful to be here, politically, financially, and emotionally. I don’t pretend to have all the answers, but I can help with healing, transformation and hope. To achieve lasting results, I alternate between conscious work/talk therapy and depth work/subconscious (EMDR/Lifespan Integration). I am direct, compassionate, and persistent. The stories we tell ourselves shape and color everything. We can accept, lovingly adjust, re-story, bring ourselves alive again, with support. Traumatic, systematic, and abuse wounds are often beyond language. They can be healed without voicing private details. Techniques: EMDR, Lifespan Integration, Somatics, IFS informed, Feminist/Anti-Oppression, Narrative/Story Telling, Play/Expressive, CBT/DBT, walking, Solutions Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindful Self-Compassion. I offer support for work stress/bullying, racial identity/mixed/first-gen issues, trauma, neglect, anxiety/depression, and parenting challenges. I address political/world feelings of doom/helplessness, climate anxiety, generational trauma, and loneliness. I often work with activists, unionists, and those in 'caring/healing' fields- teachers, nurses, etc. My goal is to help folks fall in love with themselves. To trust, be sweet to, and to hold oneself accountable with compassion instead of shame. I believe in liberation and hope. It brings me alive to help folks get free from internal & external bondage. I worked in the labor movement for 15 years before becoming a therapist. This informs my approach.
