It was my first time visit, so I showed up earlier to fill out necessary forms and be on time. I waited for over an hour and a half, but doctor never showed up, she was late.

I made an appt on Zoc Doc for this past Saturday for 12:30pm. There were numerous appts available before and after this slot. I arrived 30 min early although they suggest 15min early. The door was closed no one answered phones, I waited considering I was early. Tried again 20 min later still no answer at door or phones. Waited some more, and at this point I left. Hours later way beyond my appt time got a call from rep saying the Dr doesn’t come in until 1 that day. Was apologetic and offered to reschedule me, we agreed to Monday at 3pm. Comes Monday I call 2 hrs prior as indeed up sooner to see if I can come earlier. A new rep answered office phone and told me the Dr doesn’t arrive till 3:30/4. I explained my appt at 3pm, she said well the Dr doesn’t come yet and I don’t see any appt for you. Good thing I called rather than showing up at 3pm just to sit and wait for possible and hour or more. At this point I said no thank you I won’t be coming and the receptionist just said ok goodbye.

I have never seen such an attitude towards people. I made an appointment, it took me two hours to get to the office, with a fever and a cough, but the office was closed, doctor Malika did not appear. And she did not even inform me about it. This is a waste of time

Terrible. I traveled 45 minutes to my appointment just for them to tell me the doctor was not in. This was the 2nd time this has happened to me. I will never go there again. The receptionist asked me could she help with me blood work as she was standing outside smoking g a cigarette

Absolutely fantastic doctor. Spend time with me actually listen to me and my problems. Does not just start prescribing medication. But tried to find the roof of the problem and treat the whole body not just one part.
I wish the world had more doctors like Dr MArika. Recommended her to all my family and friends.

Great doctor who is very knowledgeable and takes the time necessary with her patients. She is a clear communicator and does her best to check your concerns throughly. Although the doctor is great, the wait is always super long and each time I went it was over an hour. The hours on zocdoc and the actual office do not match. Most times she starts work 3 or 5PM, but zocdoc’s appointments start at 1. If it wasn’t for another review the first time I booked, I probably wouldn’t have called the office to confirm and find out the office was closed for another hour. Also many times the doctor sees patients then rushes back behind the receptionist desk to either support the receptionist or do the extra work because no one is available. She is great, but time management around the office will definitely be a plus!

I booked an appointment for Saturday with this doctor and nobody opened the door when I got there. The office was completely empty. No calls or anything and I booked well in advanced. Terrible

They didn’t acknowledge me for twenty minutes. Then they said the doctor isn’t in for hours when I scheduled an appointment. No apology no come back. I literally stood there for close to twenty minutes while they disregarded my presence. Not one to complain on here, but it was unacceptable.

I arrived at the office on time for my 2:30 pm appointment, but the front desk staff informed me that Dr. Marika Cherfas, MD usually doesn’t arrive until after 4 pm due to her hospital duties earlier in the day. Despite being asked to wait for an hour, I ended up waiting until 5 pm. When Dr. Cherfas finally arrived, the front desk staff left, and I had to wait even longer as the doctor took phone calls before seeing me. It wasn’t until 5:30 pm that she was available to speak with me.
I went in for an issue with my ear, but she didn’t even examine it. Instead, she ordered a blood test and gave me a prescription for X-rays of my head and chest. I later discovered that this visit, along with the blood test, cost my insurance company a huge amount.
Following this negative experience, I decided to change doctors. I tried contacting the office several times, leaving voicemails requesting my results, but I never received a callback.
I do not recommend this office to anyone.

Dr. Cherfas is so thorough and you can tell she cares genuinely about anyone who walks through the door. I immediately felt comfortable when I walked in. She addressed all of my concerns and took her time to listen (despite literally being a one woman show on the weekend- she does it all & with ease!). You will not feel rushed and will feel like she has your best interest at heart. She is extremely capable and I’m happy to find a doctor I trust with my health. I live in Staten Island but due to insurance reasons couldn’t find a doctor on the island that took my coverage & I was questioning on the drive to the aptmt if I really want to drive 45 minutes each time, but by the time I left, I decided I absolutely don’t mind the drive when I know the care I will receive is worth it. Thanks Dr. Cherfas!
