I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at this dermatology office. I scheduled this appointment because I was seeking help for scarring on my arm that resulted from using an at-home mole removal cream. I came to a dermatologist hoping for guidance and possible treatment options because these scars have made me feel self conscious. I explained what happened and that I had the moles checked prior to removing them at home. The dermatologist stated that because I had removed the moles myself with an at-home product, she could not determine whether they were cancerous. I understand that at-home removal is not recommended, but I felt that my concerns were focused on the scars and getting help moving forward. Instead of feeling supported, I felt judged and was repeatedly criticized for using the cream. I was told there was nothing that could be done for the scarring and was not offered any treatment options. I left the appointment feeling embarrassed, defeated, and disappointed.
