Important things to note before booking:
I am a private pay provider. Unfortunately, I don't take insurance/am not in network with any insurance companies. I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company, who may reimburse you for at least some of your paid fees depending on your plan.
Our initial session is a consultation to get to know each other and decide whether working together is a good fit. Clinical assessment and/or therapy typically follow the initial consultation session after we have decided on a treatment plan.
About me:
I am a licensed clinical psychologist (PhD) with over 11 years of practice experience. I specialize in treating trauma (e.g., posttraumatic stress disorder), borderline personality disorder (BPD), and anxiety disorders. I also enjoy working with a range of other concerns, including depression, mood disorders, emotion dysregulation, self-harm, anger management, narcissism, relationship concerns, life transitions, and substance use concerns.
My therapy style is compassionate and direct, with particular attention paid to your emotional experience and attachment patterns. I typically combine evidence-based approaches to tailor your treatment to you. I believe that each of us has an inherent right to experience joy, establish safety, and grow into our full potential. I feel honored to support you as we explore your experience and collaborate on your treatment plan.
If you have a mental health condition that may be best treated using a structured protocol, I offer dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) for BPD, cognitive processing therapy (CPT) or prolonged exposure (PE) for PTSD, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for specific anxiety disorders.
My training and background:
I completed my PhD in Clinical Psychology at McMaster University (2018). My pre-doctoral internship was completed at the Center for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto, Canada, with concurrent rotations in the Women's Inpatient Trauma Unit and the Integrative Day Treatment Program (2017-2018). From 2018-2021, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at CAMH in the Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) clinic and the Temerty Center for Therapeutic Brain Intervention, and in the Clinical Neurosciences Laboratory at the University of Toronto Scarborough. I then went on to secure a faculty position at McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Massachusetts, focusing on innovating treatments for trauma and personality disorders. I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Massachussetts USA and Ontario Canada. I am certified in MDMA-assisted therapy by the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). I am engaged in MDMA research that is regulated by the FDA and Health Canada. I do not offer psychedelic-assisted therapy as a part of my clinical practice.
