Julia Stacy, LPC-S

My practice is built around a single idea: that lasting change comes from understanding the patterns beneath your symptoms, not just managing the symptoms themselves. I work with adults who want more than short-term relief, and who are ready to do meaningful, identity-level work. I am an integrative therapist, which means I draw on more than one evidence-based framework rather than applying a single method to everyone. My core training is in two of the most respected trauma-informed modalities available: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), completed through EMDRIA, which helps the brain reprocess experiences that have remained stuck and reduces their ongoing emotional charge. IFS (Internal Family Systems), Levels 1 and 2 through the IFS Institute, which understands the mind as made up of distinct parts and works toward strengthening your grounded core self. Combining EMDR with IFS allows me to address both the way past experiences are stored in the nervous system and the internal patterns that shape how you respond today. Few therapists integrate these two approaches with intention, and I find they complement each other well. My work is informed by attachment theory and a focus on nervous system regulation, both of which are central to recovery from trauma and from harmful relationship dynamics such as narcissistic abuse. I bring more than 25 years of clinical experience to this work. My style is active and collaborative. I offer clinical perspective directly, rather than waiting in silence, while keeping the relationship itself at the center of the work. I also hold a realistic view of the process, knowing that meaningful change takes time and that progress is rarely linear. Areas of focus include anxiety and depression, relationship issues, grief and loss, trauma and PTSD, narcissistic abuse recovery, and major life transitions.
