Kate Ramstedt Counseling
My name is Kate Ramstedt, and I'm a licensed mental health counselor with two decades of experience in mindfulness based counseling. I can help you with managing perfectionism, personal and work-related stress, feelings of anxiety, self doubt, and other related issues.
There is a tremendous cultural pressure to achieve "perfection" in our work and personal lives, and so it's easy to think that attaining that perfection will bring us deeper connections with others—but actually the opposite is true. When we give ourselves permission to be imperfect, we generally feel closer to our work, friends, and loved ones.
I have a special interest in working with clients who identify as perfectionists and/or who deal with related forms of anxiety using an intervention called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT (pronounced "act") is a mindfulness-based, values-oriented behavioral therapy. ACT guides us towards creating a full and meaningful life, even as we experience the pain and stress inherent in being human. Through mindfulness skills, ACT allows us to focus awareness on the present moment without judgment and better navigate painful thoughts and feelings so we can avoid getting stuck. ACT additionally helps us in clarifying what is truly important and uses that knowledge to motivate values-driven behavior.

I would definitely recommend this for someone just trying to get some footing and support to get back on track quickly. If you’re dealing with trauma or any serious mental health issues/concerns it may not be the best fit!
