Keatley Medical Nutrition Therapy
Keatley Medical Nutrition Therapy (Keatley MNT) is a clinical nutrition practice specializing in conditions where nutrition plays a central role in treatment and management, including obesity, diabetes, prediabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, metabolic syndrome, and heart health. Our focus is on improving metabolic and cardiometabolic health through Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), patient education, and sustainable lifestyle strategies.
We believe nutrition care is most effective when it is evidence-based, collaborative, and centered around the patient’s goals and daily reality. Every individual arrives with different health challenges, cultural backgrounds, and lifestyle constraints—and our care model honors that complexity.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help patients understand and benefit from targeted nutrition interventions that improve health, support chronic disease management, and reduce long-term risk. We apply the best available scientific evidence, align treatment plans with patient goals, and support readiness for change.
We recognize that meaningful progress requires not only clinical guidance, but also education, practical tools, and behavioral support. For that reason, we emphasize:
• Evidence-based treatment plans
• Patient participation in decision-making
• Self-management skills
• Sustainable lifestyle strategies
• Long-term health outcomes
Achieving nutrition-related goals is a team effort, and patients are considered active partners in their care.
How We Approach Nutrition Care
At Keatley MNT, we use Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), which includes:
Assessment – reviewing labs, health history, medications, dietary patterns, symptoms, and lifestyle factors.
Diagnosis & Intervention – identifying nutrition problems and developing individualized treatment plans.
Monitoring & Evaluation – adjusting strategies over time and measuring progress through clinical and behavioral outcomes.
This clinical approach is supported by education and counseling, so patients understand not just what to do, but why certain strategies work and how to implement them sustainably.
Conditions We Specialize In
We commonly support patients with:
• Obesity & weight management
• Diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, Prediabetes)
• Metabolic syndrome
• Hypertension
• High cholesterol / dyslipidemia
• Heart disease / cardiometabolic risk
• Fatty liver disease (NAFLD)
• PCOS-related metabolic concerns
• Emotional or behavioral eating patterns
What to Expect During Visits
Initial Visits focus on understanding your medical history, symptoms, labs, medications, eating patterns, and daily lifestyle. We discuss goals and create a starting plan aligned with your health priorities.
Follow-Up Visits focus on adjusting strategies, reviewing obstacles, integrating education, and building sustainable habits over time. Chronic conditions often require multiple visits to ensure long-term improvement.
Our Care Philosophy
We believe patients benefit most from care that is:
Evidence-Based — grounded in current scientific research, not fad diets or misinformation.
Personalized — tailored to medical needs, cultural preferences, and daily life.
Empowering — built on education and skills, not restriction or shame.
Collaborative — often coordinated with primary care, cardiology, or endocrinology teams.
Sustainable — focused on long-term success rather than quick fixes.
Our Clinical Provider
Keatley MNT is led by Scott Keatley, MPPD, RD, CDN, FAND, a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist and Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Scott has extensive experience in obesity management, diabetes care, and cardiometabolic health, and has provided nutrition expertise across clinical, digital health, and media environments. He values clinical accuracy, clear communication, and patient-centered care.
Patient-Centered, Evidence-Based Nutrition Care
Patients often come to Keatley MNT because:
• They want help managing a chronic medical condition
• Their physician recommended Medical Nutrition Therapy
• They have tried general nutrition advice without results
• They are confused by conflicting diet information online
• They want clear, science-based guidance they can trust
• They are ready to build healthier habits for the long term
Our goal is to provide clarity, confidence, and clinical support in an area where misinformation is common and personalization matters.
Education & Self-Management
A core part of our mission is to provide education and tools so patients can better understand:
• how nutrition affects their condition
• what changes matter most for their goals
• how to navigate real-world eating situations
• how to build habits that last
We believe sustainable progress happens when patients feel informed, understood, and supported.

she was sweet and kind. I'm a young girl that's not over weight yet but definitely almost there and she's helping me with preventive measures, she did not dismiss me cause of my age or healthy bmi and she made a game plan with me. I appreciate her efforts and communication skills to effectively explain things and she was real! she kept everything 100% real.

I’m delighted to wholeheartedly recommend Gina as an outstanding dietitian. I’ve experienced firsthand her remarkable ability to communicate complex nutritional information in an understandable and relatable manner. Her informative and tailored guidance transformed my approach to nutrition.

Gina wasn’t really open to provide individualized suggestions specifically for me. I guess she provided what she generally recommends to her patients. Diets and nutrition are not one size fits all; it should be based upon each person, their lifestyle, and likes/dislikes. For example, if I inform you I don’t eat mushrooms, don’t provide me with recipes that utilize mushrooms because other patients eat mushrooms. If I say I prefer to shop personally for my groceries, don’t tell me to have them delivered frozen instead because it’s more convenient. She didn’t seem like she appreciated being questioned. She suggested to make hard boiled eggs in an air fryer for 8-9 mins and when I stated, why would I do that instead of boiling them on the stove for 3-4 mins; that seemed to give a little pushback. While she provided 2 great suggestions; to stop skipping meals & to eat meats with less than 10 grams of fat; that’s all that was helpful. Gina was just not a good fit for me.

It went really well. She diffently is not one to pull punches as far as honesty and being real with a patient. So many people are so careful of other peoples feelings and while I would diffently never call Gina callous I would say that she is real and up front with what needs to be done. She genuinely wants you to succeed and will call you out if she feels like you arent being up front with her. Her knowledge and experience in her field is very obvious and its comforting that she has been in her field for a minute and knows what works and what doesn't. I would 10/10 recommend.

Had to go through a lot of questions before being told I need to be referred elsewhere. Said I would receive some referrals soon, I followed up but nothing came!

Gina helped me to improve my relationship with food through a very customized approach, and this is what I liked about her most! We never opted for a standard “known” paths but rather sought to adjust healthy habits to my body needs. I am happy to reach my goals: lost some weight and made healthy eating part of my life. She is a very attentive nutritionist and I would certainly recommend her to anyone seeking to get better with food and have a healthier lifestyle.

I'm seriously so grateful for all of Gina's help! Before meeting her, I'd tried so many diets throughout my life that I felt totally confused about what to eat. Gina showed me how to think about food in a really simple and moderate way that just makes sense. I've also learned to trust myself to decide what food I want and what food will help me feel great. It feels so good to finally be in control of my eating habits and comfortable in my body.

Gina is extremely knowledgeable, and Incredibly responsive...you can tell that she truly loves this work. She practices what she preaches, if you will. If you have found her, see her.

Gina is awesome! She's so smart and informed and has tons of completely doable tips and tricks in her arsenal to help you learn to eat healthier! If anything doesn't seem doable, she'll be the first to try and fix and adjust. After a few short months, I've quickly been seeing change in appetite, cravings, and general way of thinking towards food. And seeing a change in my waistline - woohoo!

Even a dietitian needs a dietitian! Gina is so paitent, understanding and non judgemental. As a fellow dietitian she has helped me tremendously with my own practice and my own personal journey with food as well. Highly recommend!
