Keri Baker Counseling

I'm an inclusive therapist across race, gender identity, sexual orientation, and body size: my practice is explicitly fat-positive, Neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ affirming, and I work to make sure every client feels safe being exactly who they are in the room with me. My approach is weight-inclusive, anti-diet, and trauma-informed - weight loss is never a treatment goal here, and I won't ask you to chase one. Clinically, I draw from a few different modalities depending on what each client needs. I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you understand the different parts of yourself - including the inner critic - and what they're actually trying to protect you from. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you reconnect with values that are actually yours, not the ones handed to you by the culture around us. I'm also trained in Brainspotting, which I use for trauma and for clients who have a hard time staying present with big feelings. As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, I help clients rebuild a relationship with food and their body that isn't ruled by restriction or self-judgment. I'm not a blank-slate therapist - I show up as a real person, and I'll never tell you what to do. But I'll sit with you while you figure out what you actually want.

Keri creates a warm, supportive environment where I felt comfortable from the start. She has helped me build my self-esteem, improve my body image, and develop a healthier relationship with food. She also provides wonderful support for parents navigating ARFID, picky eating, and anxious kids. Her compassionate, practical approach has made a meaningful difference for both me and my family. I highly recommend!!

I came to therapy with Keri because old relationship patterns kept repeating, and I knew trauma was playing a role. EMDR helped me process things I'd been carrying for years. I feel lighter, more confident, and finally able to move forward.

????Claude responded: Keri does deeply important work helping clients heal their relationship with body image, self-esteem, and food.Keri does deeply important work helping clients heal their relationship with body image, self-esteem, and food. She approaches these issues with the patience and nuance they require, never rushing the process or oversimplifying something so personal. Her clients get a space where they can actually unpack the messages they've internalized about their bodies and worth, instead of just managing symptoms on the surface. If you're looking for a therapist who treats this work with the seriousness it deserves, Keri is who you want in your corner.
