Dr Igwiloh is an excellent psychiatrist. She is very caring, understanding, and easy to talk to. She listens without judgment and i felt she genuinely cared about me . Extremely frustrating experience. I told the psychiatrist that I have already tried Wellbutrin and did not like it or find it helpful. I was told I needed to try it again because my previous trial was not within the last three months. When I questioned this, I was told that if I tried it again and came back saying it didn’t work, she would then prescribe a stimulant. So essentially, I’m expected to spend another month on a medication I have already tried before I can receive the treatment we already know I’m seeking. I understand providers can have their own prescribing policies, but there is a difference between a practice preference and a legal requirement. I wish this had been communicated more transparently. I came looking for collaborative ADHD treatment and left feeling like I was being forced through an unnecessary checkbox rather than having my previous medication experience taken seriously. Just another misogynistic doctor who makes women try harder than men to be treated.

I haven’t been able to find a neurologist who will treat my Tourette’s for 11 years. I felt seen, I felt like she actually cared about what I was saying. I cried happy tears after my appointment, it was a weight lifted finally finding someone who knows more about my condition than me.

If your insurance is not in network, prepare for minor trouble shooting issues getting payment figured out before the appointment. Once that's done it was seamless and a very pleasant interaction.
