This psychiatrist just makes me laugh! every time I leave his office ,or I get off the phone with him on a telehealth call,he's just so serious it makes me laugh. But I test his smarts all the time,. He is a very intelligent man I do believe he knows what he's talking about,he can become very frustrating at times when he just sits there and looks at you, he's not very personable he keeps his personal life to himself which makes me believe sometimes he's not very happy person. he reminds me of Shelton on The Big bang theory, he's got some of his same mannerisms. But if I had to have anybody on my side because they didn't know what to do on my deathbed,I certainly would like to have him there he does give you things to think about!!He does make you think,I would just like to see him smile every once in awhile,but other than that he's a good guy.??

I’ve been seeing Dr Checo for just over a year now. I was under the care of a psychiatrist in Texas for nearly 20 years before moving to Virginia a little over a year ago, and have to say I feel fortunate to have found Dr Checo so quickly. We meshed immediately! She is excellent at listening and advising, and prescribing the medication I need at my age! She had me weaned off an anxiety med I’d been on for years and I’ve had no ill effects from going off it. Excellent psychiatrist!!

This was a negative experience for the following reasons: TECHNICAL ISSUES: She had a slow or unstable internet connection (video froze and then suddenly sped up or fast-forwarded multiple times). THE NAME DISCREPANCY: I booked an appointment here with Maria Nolden but met with Asun Nolden and this is apparently the same person who goes by two different first names. OVER-LABELING: In our conversation, she seemed very focused on finding labels for me. I said I was concerned about losing my job. So, she interprets that to mean I have an anxiety disorder. THE BLIND REFERRAL: She refused to see me after the initial meeting and referred me to an unnamed, to be announced colleague because I have bipolar disorder. I was asked to fill out a form and disclosed the diagnosis but said I was seeking support for PTSD. People can have more than one condition. I have a TBI as well. Ignoring my request for PTSD support, felt dismissive and like she was reducing me to a one-dimensional character.

Mrs. Maria Nolden is an amazing professional. It’s the first time in my life that I’m seeking personal counseling and it’s been a great experience. I’ve been seeing her for 4 months now and she has been a great support but also a great advisor when I’m wrong and when I can do things better. She always gives different perspectives so I can understand what’s going on in my life and people and things around me. I 100% recommend her, she’s a great listener and if you let her, she will give you great insights.
