My experience with this doctor and his office staff could only be described as awesome. The staff helped me to fill out all the information that a new patient is required to provide if the doctor is to get a comprehensive picture of his client. When I was in with the doctor he delved deeply into everything, present ailments and my entire medical history. The interview with the doctor lasted about 45 minutes covering almost every medical I've had done in my 73 years. He ordered tests (x-rays) so that he could have a proper picture before starting treatment. I was completely satisfied.

I scheduled my pap smear here, as a listed provider through insurance. They were unsure how much to charge me and initially said I would have to come back a second time for a Pap smear. I expressed frustration with this. Ultimately they did perform the procedure but were unsure how it would be billed.
Throughout the visit, remarks were made questioning the credibility of my PCP. At one point she asked: “Are you sure you don’t want me to be your primary provider?” I found this disrespectful to my caring relationship with my PCP of 7 years. During my health history, I mentioned that I have had my thyroid removed. The doctor repeatedly stated how terrible it was that I had this surgery
During my procedure I started bleeding - multiple comments about the blood present. I found myself feeling ashamed of a normal, unanticipated bodily function. Additionally, I was told the blood will probably invalidate the results of the test (it didn’t).
I do not plan to return to this provider.

Couldn’t recommend this practice enough! This was my first primary care visit in five years, and they got me set up with everything I needed. They took the time to listen, answered all of my questions, and genuinely seemed invested in getting to the bottom of my health concerns instead of just rushing me through the appointment.
I highly recommend Dr. Ortiz and the entire staff. The care, compassion, and professionalism they showed made a great first impression. I’ll definitely be coming back!
