We want to be clear that Malak Psychology is not paneled with insurance companies. If you have out-of-network (OON) benefits, we provide you with a monthly 'Statement for Insurance Reimbursement' (i.e., superbill) to submit to your insurance for reimbursement which is not always guaranteed. You pay upfront for services using a Health Savings Account (HSA) card, Flexible Spending Account (FSA) card, credit card, or debit card. When you have a high deductible plan, you usually need to meet your deductible before your insurance pays for many of your healthcare expenses. Some plans allow OON providers to count toward that deductible and some do not. Some plans allow out-of-state clinicians (Malak Psychology is based in Arizona) to count, and some do not. You can also check your insurance card, review your terms online, or call your insurance provider. We can call your insurance with you to help verify your benefits if you need support, so please reach out if you need that assistance. We can refer you to clinicians who suit your financial needs as well. If you are okay proceeding with OON services, individual therapy sessions are $225, couples and family therapy sessions are $250, group therapy intakes and each session are sliding scale each session ($44 | $77 | $111 - use this to reflect on cost https://www.radicalhistoryclub.com/sliding-scale), and psychological assessments are $250 an hour plus materials which typically ranges from $2000-$4000 in total but can range. Malak Psychology is rooted in liberation, decolonial, multicultural, and feminist psychologies, woven together with evidence-based approaches and the ancestral wisdom of the Global Majority. Care here is individualized, culturally grounded, and built around you as the unique being you are. Malak Psychology supports healing in ways that honor holistic beings and the planet. Alongside clinical services, the practice offers spiritual art commissions, recreational therapy, and community events rooted in the same values that guide our care.
