Marinda Peaks
Marinda is passionate for promoting well-being for both the individual and the community. For over a decade, she has been working with children, teens, families, and adult women creating a therapeutic atmosphere of listening, understanding, and quality care. In the therapy room, Marinda views her clients and their environments holistically. She provides a partnership in healing with her clients, equipping them with the tools and skills needed on the path towards growth and restoration. Her hope is for her clients to find meaning and healing in their life stories, resulting in positive changes in themselves, their families, and their communities even when their time in therapy is over.
After completing her Bachelor of Arts in Human Communication and Psychology from Colorado Christian University, Marinda went on to complete her Master of Counseling from Denver Seminary. Her passion for the mental well-being of her community is evidenced by her partnerships with nearby schools and churches. Locally, Marinda has been engaged as a speaker for groups of teachers, youth leaders, students and parents on myriad topics such as self-harm, anxiety, social media, and depression. Nationally, she has now participated twice as co-presenter at the Christian Association of Psychological Studies where she discussed and examined Issues of Attachment in Domestic and International Adoption and the Restoration of Wellness for Survivors Following Mass Shootings.
As a Colorado native, Marinda enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids. She enjoys the mountains, reading fiction, traveling, and exploring outlets of creativity from music to home design.
Marinda uses several therapeutic modalities including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy), Family Systems Therapy, Grief Therapy, TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Brain-Based Therapy (Practical Neuroscience). She is person-centered and narrative based in her approach. Marinda is also specifically trained in Maternal Mental Health through PSI (Postpartum Support International.)
