VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE..Takes more than the required time to spend on you to make sure he’s checked every part of the eyes.
They don’t do contacts and did not disclose that information over the phone. Waste of my time.
Great doc he really take his time with every patient

I felt very uncomfortable with this visit. I was really concerned with my safety after being in his office for 4-5 hr until very late in the night . He insisted to finish his report and discouraged me to leave. He never provide any documentation of your medical records

Dr. Martin's office was dirty and old. The chairs and the carpeting were falling apart. I didn't even want to sit down in his waiting room. His office was a mess. He told me a whole story about his past receptionists and went into WAY too much personal detail about them in order to explain the stacks of boxes and papers all over his office. He also told me a personal story about another one of his patients. He called and moved my appointment later than original and then still didn't see me for over an hour. He saw another patient in the middle of my appointment. His background history is over-extensive and part of it could be completed by form before you go to the office to save A LOT of time. He tells personal anecdotes about everything you say and boasts and brags about all his accomplishments while he is doing it. He does all these tests "he created" and uses very dated software and procedures to save and document patient files. I was supposed to have a second appointment with him, but I ended up canceling because I didn't feel comfortable going back. I felt as though he was very unprofessional.
The doctor is extremely knowledgable and took extra time and care to understand my medical history and symptoms. The appointment was reschduled several times, which was a little annoying, but I would definitely go back because I felt well cared for and that is hard to find in this area. Just keep in mind that your appointment could be delayed by a few hours and I believe the reason was because he spent extra time with the patients prior to my appointment. Overall good guy, overall good experience, needs an assistant.
Dr Weinberg is amazing. I had an emergency and he fit in his schedule for an appointment. I have Optic Neuritis and if it wasn't for Dr Weinberg, my illness would've been more severe.

fist of all before, as a health provider myself, i had researched Dr Weinberg before making my initial appointment. He is quite accomplished and had extreme array of credentials. Upon the first visit I completed an exhaustive health history and and the doctor spent time reviewing the content. He brought things to my attention that I was not aware of. His clinical examination was equally as thorough and comprehensive. After the appointment was complete his compassion continued to prevail , ensuring that I had adequate transportation home since my eyes were dialated. I would just like to add that even the insurance filings were mainstreamed by his staff to make an even more enjoyable an experience... Thank you Dr Weinberg, you are an asset to your profession !! Dr Weinberg is a breath of fresh air in today's world of revolving door medicine. He is methodical and thorough and personally took the time to review my entire medical history to ensure that he was fully aware of my current health status and past medical issues that might impact the health of my eyes. He does not just give you a form to complete, he reviews it with you until he sees the entire picture. After reviewing my medical history, I had the most thorough eye exam that I have ever received without performing any unnecessary tests. Dr Weinberg pays attention to every detail and makes sure you receive a quality examination. He does not rush his patients which is atypical of most physicians today. I felt that the Dr genuinely cared about the health of my eyes and wanted to make sure that my eyes were in fact healthy and that I left his office with the perfect prescription for my new eyeglasses. Dr Weinberg is highly credentialed, as he is currently Chairman of Englewood Hospital's Dept of Ophthalmology, a position he has held for quite a few years and also has many fellowships. Dr Weinberg seems to possess an extraordinary understanding of the human body and is familiar with many other areas of medicine beyond his specialty. When I arrived for my appointment the Dr was finishing up with a Special Needs patient and I was touched by the kindness and respect he showed to that patient, Dr Weinberg is an extremely caring physician who respects his patients and truly cares about their needs and goes out of his way to provide the best care humanly possible. I highly recommend Dr Weinberg if you want a thorough examination without feeling rushed. Besides being knowledgeable, Dr Weinberg is compassionate and kind with a very pleasant demeanor.

My original appointment was for 4:45. The dr. changed it to 5, then 5:10, then 5:20, on the day of! He said I’d be there for 1.25 hours. I was there over 3 hours!!! For any appt that’s ridiculous. I should have known when I got to the office and smelled mustiness before I even got in there, that it was a bad idea. That fact should have been confirmed when I saw the condition of it – a threadbare rug in over 2 spots (which I took pictures of), & boxes and debris everywhere. I already knew the doctor had no idea how to keep a schedule because of the time changes, but I thought, well, emergencies happen, and I was having a problem with my eyes. So, I stayed. I really wish I hadn’t. I had to wait over 45 minutes before he saw me. His receptionist left, and he came in and said he had to get coffee. Told me that he was taking his kid to a movie after my appointment and an interview of a new associate, and had to stay up (did I need to know that? No, inappropriate). Then he came into to the waiting area to “talk” to me. It was more like an interrogation and penalty phase. He looked like an unmade bed. Heavy, disheveled, with his Hospital ID hanging on him like a medal he’d earned. He asked me personal questions for over 2 hours – and when I objected to the length of time I was there and the scope of the questions, he told me that he’d “saved lives” with his very detailed intake procedure. He then told me about how many lives he’d saved, supposedly. (A man had a heart attack & the ER called his eye dr? I don’t believe him). He ‘shared’ how he’s “happily divorced” (imagine that, he’s such a catch!), and how his girlfriend is deathly afraid of getting cataract surgery. He told me that his former assistant had screwed him over with the files (hence the mess he tried to explain), and that because of her he’d had to pay over a $100 Grand for forensic accounting for something or other. He should have put some of that into the décor. He complained that he’d paid her to go out on disability for a leg injury, but he’d seen her on the street looking “fine”. He boasted how he’s the Chief of Staff at some Hospital (I don’t remember which, I was so annoyed by him). Is any of this appropriate? A big, annoyed, disinterested, NO. He loves to hear himself talk. No wonder he was late. No emergency. Just his overinflated ego. I feel really sorry for the Residents who have to put up with him full time. At one point, I coughed (I have allergies and was very late for my pill), and he told me that was being “unhygienic by not having done it into my elbow”. Then chastised me about the spread of germs. I coughed into my hand; a dry cough! He’s so rude! He told me that if I have allergies I have to get rid of my cats (not happening I said) and he went off onto his millionth tangent. I thought about leaving before he got to the eye exam more than once. I really wish I had. He finally finished the “intake”. He told me he’d start the exam and “get me out of there in an hour or less”. I tried to throw out my Starbucks cup into a garbage can, and he freaked and stopped me saying “I don’t allow any liquids in the garbage cans”!! Of course, he doesn’t have a cleaning staff, my mistake, clearly, looking at the place! He FINALLY got to the exam portion of the torture. He INSISTED that my hands be on the arms of the (old) chair in a very uncomfortable position. After looking at one eye, I couldn’t keep them there & moved them. He pulled the instrument back and said “I’ll give you a rest before we resume”! I objected to the position & told him I had to get home to give my cats meds so he needed to hurry up. He refused to go on without my hands there! But, it got worse. He put drops in my eyes and I went to wipe my face – and he told me NOT to! He dabbed at my face (missing all the liquid) and so I reached over & got my own tissue. At that point, he went BALLISTIC! He YELLED at me that I’d COUGHED into the hand that touched his “sterile” counter (it was gross, too)! I said I brushed against it with the back of my hand, and got a tissue with my other hand. He yelled “THIS IS MY PLACE, MY RULES!” He was about to bluster something else but I cut him off & asked if the exam was done. I’d had more than had enough, but was in agony with my eyes. I wanted an Rx, even from him. But, he wasn’t able to see the back of my one eye! At that point, he announced that it’s allergic, no Rx and to make a follow up appt. I told him that he could tear up my file because I wouldn’t be back on a bet. I left there at 8:30pm after getting there at 5:20! I was so angry that I’d been treated so badly that when I went home, that I talked about it for an hour with my hubby. Then I did Yoga deep breathing to calm down. I was mostly angry with myself for having put up with him, when I knew I shouldn’t have. But, I'm still angry that people like him exist, and worse, are in the “service” medical industry. His “bedside manner” is disgusting, like his office. I went to my regular eye dr. a day later, and they gave me a cream & drops, which cleared up the infection in 3 days. That appt was just over an hour as well, and the office is beautiful, the staff is friendly and kind, and so are the doctors. I asked them for an appt. and they gave me one. I really wish I’d skipped the torture. Do yourself and favor – avoid weinberg. like the plague. He should have made me comfortable by being professional and kind, but he didn't. He’s a rude, angry, pedantic, OCD germaphobe, bullying, inappropriate, boasting buffoon. I couldn't be more disgusted by my experience with him.

He's a great doctor honestly. He did tests and explained stuff I'd never even heard before. He is extremely dedicated to his craft; and it shows in the outstanding way he treats his patients. Dr. Weinberg is a great doctor, and I totally recommend him for new patients. 5/5 stars!

Dr. Weinberg goes above & beyond the minimal expectations of a doctor. He sent me to Wills Eye Hospital and NIH for further evaluation, and possible course of action. At both hospitals they consulted with his methodology and course of treatment. Without Dr. Weinberg's pro-active approach to my care, I might not be seeing today. The medical community should be proud that they have such a well respected doctor in their midst.

For close to two decades we have been going to Dr. Weinberg for various eye related issues. He is not only professional and courteous but also unbelievably dedicated to the well being of his patients. Prior to his care, we struggled finding a professional who was willing to listen, understand & properly diagnose and treat my eye related issues. Having lived in the area > more than 35 years, I highly recommend him. You will Not be able to find better care for your eyes.

DR. WEINBERG'S KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ARE EXEMPLARY; MAKING HIS DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION AND OPTHAMOLOGICAL TREATMENT PLAN OPTIMAL FOR THE PATIENT. HIS THOROUGHNESS AND PATIENCE AND PAINSTAKING TIME PROVIDED TO EACH PATIENT IS HIGHLY UNUSUAL IN HIS MEDICAL PROFESSION.

For the past 10 years I have traveled far to visit Dr. Weinberg and would continue to go out of my way to be treated by him. In addition to his thorough, courteous and professional care for my eyes he has delivered medical care above and beyond what is customary and expected. Upon partial loss of sight in one eye I ran to Dr. Weinberg who correctly indicated I might have a blood disorder and recommended I follow up with a hematologist. This led to correct diagnosis of a rare blood disease which could have been terminal.

My visits are terrific. Dr Weinberg is an exceptional physician. He diagnosed a very serious issue with my eyes and diligently monitors my progress. I am so lucky I found him to treat me.

Dr. Weinberg cares alot about his patients. He is the most thorough doctor I have been to , and he knows everything about your eyes.

I was extremely pleased with my visit to Dr. Weinberg. When I noticed a change in my vision, Dr. Weinberg provided a very detailed examination and determined that I had a condition called venous stasis retinopathy. Over time I had multiple episodes of CRVO in both eyes. Dr. Weinberg ordered a series of blood tests to determine if I might have some abnormality predisposing me to this frequency of these Central Retinal Vein Occlusions. These blood tests un-earthed that I had a genetic disorder (MTHFR C677T mutation) that did predispose me to increased probability of forming blood-clots/venous thrombosis anywhere, not just my eyes. This has allowed me the opportunity to take steps in anticipation of this increased risk. The attention to detail, the time taken to look for underlying causes has proven invaluable to me. During examinations, Dr. Weinberg attends to identifying problems and will take whatever additional time is necessary. It has been very comforting to be under the care of such an exceptionally well-trained and dedicated physician.
