Since 1990, Midwest Sports Medicine has grown to become the premier orthopedic group in Northern Illinois. We offer a team of distinguished, experienced board certified and fellowship trained orthopedic surgeons. We also have a board certified podiatrist, and a pain management specialist. I've been dealing with knee pain for a few years and this was my first visit to Dr. Odell. He has a very professional and friendly bedside manner, listened to my concerns and answered my questions. Based on past experiences at a different medical practice, I was dreading having injections in my knee again, but he did a great job and it was almost painless! I highly recommend this doctor!

He spoke directly to her instead of turning to mom and dad for answers and explained the problem without being condescending to his young patient. We've returned for several follow up appointments and his pleasant demeanor is consistent, his staff is excellent with appointment and test scheduling, and I appreciate that never leaves the room without making sure all of our questions are answered.

This visit was actually for my mom who is in her 80s, however I accompanied. Dr. Odell took great time and care to listen, give some good strategies and most importantly...had loads of patience. He picked up on her ways pretty quickly and had good suggestions for how she can help herself to continue being active.

ask one of the staff to tell us how long we have to wait. Why not
ask patient to download the paper works so we don' t wast time
For half an hour for our medical history.

Incredibly knowledgable, friendly, great sense of humor that puts you at ease. You will walk out of his office feeling 100% better and with better knowledge. I also can't say enough great things about the staff, very friendly, carrying, and will do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. This was my first visit with Dr. Odell and I am certain I found the right physician for my Ortho needs.

I will never come here again. The service was awful and the front representative was rude and extremely unprofessional. I guess she don't like veterans if they are black. When I came to my appointment, there were papers all over the floor. She saw me, looked me square in the eye, did not say a word to me as if I was invisible, looked right back down and continued doing what she was doing. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Please do not come to this office.

Love Dr. Morrell but the office & X-ray staff was not very friendly and may benefit from some training in cust service. A simple "good morning" would have sufficed. Tech who called me in did not greet nor acknowledge me after calling my name, did not introduce herself. Simply walked towards the exam room and expected me to follow her. Staff's demeanor was colder than the exam room, thus the 3-star rating for recommending the professional as I had considered my end-to-end experience, including that with the staff, in my evaluation.

Dr. was lovely, very kind and helpful. I would see her again but the office was so busy that I was only able to speak to her for a few minutes. I even arrived 45 minutes early to make sure I had my full appointment time (all the paperwork for a new Dr. In mind.) I had questions about multiple areas of pain but was literally not allowed to ask about more than one area. I have no idea if this is a normal practice for an Orthopedic office but I was a little surprised that I could not ask about pain in other than one area. (They seemed to really want it narrowed down to not just knees but one knee.) So I left with great info on how to treat one problem but no info on if my right wrist is sprained or if I have carpal tunnel. I felt pretty rushed and think perhaps they should lengthen their visit times to greater than 15 minute windows.

Dr. Morrell gave me good advice on how to treat my bursitis and gave a good explanation of what exactly was causing it. My only complaint is that I was there for over an hour, and I would say 20 minutes of that hour were spent with the x-ray technician, PA, and doctor, so it was a lot of waiting.

I value the opportunity to explain the reason why I needed a visit, The fact that she comes in to see you and has reviewed all my information including x rays. She encourages questions and takes the time to explain everything in detail with follow up pamphlets. And what is very important to me is treatment options that take in to account my body and preferences!

We waited a long time before we saw the doctor, but when we did we were very pleased with her. She was obviously very knowledgable about my problem and took her time to explain everything to me that I needed to know. That's probably why the wait was long- she didn't rush through my appointment and answered any questions my husband and I had. We liked her a lot and will for sure go back to her.

Excellent !! Physician Assistant and Dr. Morell listened to all my concerns. Explained everything in layman's terms. Did not rush me!! They did not try to proceed to a more aggressive therapy with medication and surgery. Good experience, I felt confident in their expertise, knowledge and professionalism.
The paperwork for initial visit was excessive. Maybe send it or have patient fill it out on line. This might save the doctor and patient valuable time.
