I have been seeing another psychiatrist for 3 years and feel like I should be farther along in my mental health journey than I am now. Marlisha asked a bunch of valid questions and was able to diagnose the root problem of my mental health struggles in the first visit. We made a treatment plan and she discussed everything thoroughly with me. She was a straight shooter no BS kind of provider which I appreciated. She gets on your level w/ you, celebrate your wins, talk through your struggles with compassion and has an unwavering commitment to your wellbeing. I’ve watched her deduce how I think and she’s used that to help me in a unique manner that aligned with my thought pattern so we could achieve my well-being goals and I could finally get out of my own way. Of my many psych practitioners I’ve worked with over the yrs, she’s the only one who talks to me like I’m a person first and a patient second. She’s present in our sessions and meets me where I’m at. She has always respected my wishes regarding how I want to receive care and meds I’ve been comfortable with vs not. She doesn’t push her agenda. She has always been candid about pros vs cons of various options with the intention of guiding you, not bullying or forcing you to do what she wants. I recommend her to everyone I know who’s looking for a psych, esp. for ADHD support!
