For a person of color, I would NOT recommend. He automatically assumed I was from the Bronx, with no indicator whatsoever. If we were in an office in the Bronx, that would be fair. But to automatically assume I’m from the person because I’m a woman of color? We were in the Elmsford area. I feel as though much of my answers were not answered until I asked repeatedly, some of which I did not get an answer. A lot of medical jargon was used with no explanation of what it meant or follow up. It just felt very condescending and like a waste of my time and money. An X-ray was offered twice, which he said more than once he doesn’t think is necessary but if I’d like to as a precaution which I did end up declining. The overall office and staff were clean, and very friendly. I went for a second opinion because I’ve had previous providers ignore symptoms; just for it to actually end up what I suspected it was. I’ve never experienced a micro aggression with a provider before and it was insulting.

I love Dr. Spivack. He is very kind, humble, & sincere. He is very knowledgeable and thorough. Hence, he takes a lot of time with you and runs late in keeping appointment time. "Good things come to them that wait": Dr. Spivack is worth the wait.

My first office experience with Dr. Carlos Alvarado and his "team" (including his various assistants) was extremely positive. They were collectively very welcoming, attentive and responsive to answering all of my questions and concerns. Particularly noteworthy were Dr. Alvarado's efforts to thoroughly review my past medical history and to explain the results of the diagnostic X-Ray information that had been taken during my visit. Our time together was therefore very productive.
