It was my first visit, in essence a consultation. I met with Dr Paleses' assistant who was very competent with an excellent demeanor. We went over my issues and I felt very comfortable with him. Then Dr Palese came in to talk to me and he immediately put me at ease even more so that I already was. We went over options, decided on a course of action based on our conversation and i will see him again in 4-6 weeks to go over how i feel and what we can do to move forward to achieve my goals. He’s great! ZocDoc however created an appointment that would have been impossible since the doctor does not work at the office location on the date where it offered and confirmed the appointment! Luckily I called the office to confirm, so I was able to “reschedule” before I wasted a day off from work.

I had a choice of kidney stone specialists, but chose Dr. Palese because he's the chairman of the urology department at Mount Sinai. I prefer to see doctors who are the top of their field.

Dr. Palese and his fellow were genuinely interested in my issue and getting to the root cause. Though I will have to see a few additional specialists, they were the first doctors I've seen who were more interested in finding the cause and fixing it rather than just treating the symptoms. Their bedside manner was great - explaining everything to me and answering all of my questions but without making me feel like I was unintelligent. They treated me with respect - I highly recommend them!
