Please note: we have several lovely practitioners at our practice. We now offer massage therapy at our practice. We accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and United Healthcare.
Dr. Lisa Sumption, L.Ac. DAOM, is the founder and services as Clinic Director and lead acupuncturist. However, we are a group practice and we assign our first availability to whichever practitioner is first available. Please let reception know if you are looking to work with a specific practitioner. Coverage can vary widely from policy to policy so please make sure to fill out your insurance information so we may verify your benefits and match you with the best practitioner. Once verified, we will provide a breakdown of your benefits. Please note that insurance applies only to acupuncture, facial acupuncture, and massage. Insurance does not currently cover Breathwork, Chinese Herbal Therapy, or Reiki treatments. Cupping, Gua Sha and Moxa fall under the treatment of Acupuncture. I had a confirmed appointment that was canceled at the last minute. Initially, I was told it was because I submitted my insurance info too late — which wasn’t true. Later, they admitted the real reason was that the provider suddenly became unavailable. The phone conversation with their representative was miserable — there was no empathy, no apology, just a cold, dismissive tone. When I tried to reschedule, the receptionist took a long time to check availability and sounded completely unsure of what she was doing. The whole experience left me feeling like my time and care needs didn’t matter to them at all. I won’t be returning.

The reason I gave the low stars is because I booked the appointment with Lisa, after performing diligent research, only to be shuffled to another provider. That is an unacceptable practice. Please don't do this to patients, regardless! I booked with Lisa on ZocDoc, not anyone else at the practice. I don't care if an email was sent notifying me of the change right before the appointment -- I booked with Lisa on ZocDoc not someone else. Please reflect your records accordingly on ZocDoc to show other providers. This is a holistic practice too.
In addition, was charged a card processing fee, plus was charged during the middle of service, prior to the visit being completed on the second time. Another unacceptable practice -- there has never been a practice that charged me in the middle and didn't request my permission to charge!

I made a same day appointment but they called me and said that Zocdoc was wrong, there was no appointment.
I complained and they found me an earlier time with someone else.
It went well. However when I left there were no other providers in tbr space (so she canceled -
Didn’t double book.) just not sure about using Zocdoc or this facility?

Phenomenal treatment by another acupuncturist on staff. Beautiful and clean ZEN office environment. I'd love to keep going back, but they are not actually on my insurance plan, though shown in network by Zocdoc. :(
