Between the two of us (brother and sister), we have spent 23 years looking at teeth everyday, and we have come to believe that genetics plays a much bigger role in oral health than most people realize. Some of us are born with stronger enamel, a better bite, or a mouth that simply resists cavities. You cannot control your genes. What you can control is your daily habits. The patients who keep their teeth the longest are not the luckiest ones. They are the ones who spend a little more time learning about their teeth, and a little more time taking care of them. As with so many things in life, we often forget what matters to us until it is gone. Teeth are the same. The more care and attention you give them, the longer they will stay with you. That is why we chose our name. A good friend tells you the truth, explains things in plain language, and never pressures you. You will see your own x-rays and photos, and we will explain what is happening in your mouth and why. We will tell you what needs attention now and what can wait. We recommend treatment the way we would for our own family, no more and no less. We will teach you. Every visit is a chance to learn something that helps you keep your teeth for life. We will treat you like a person, not a chart. We want to know you, remember you, and see you for many years to come. We are brother and sister, and we started My Dentist Friend here in South Jersey because we believe great dental care should feel like visiting a friend who happens to be a dentist. I had a cavity in my back molar that kept me awake for days, and also made it difficult to eat and chew. I saw Dr. Kim was fast to put me out of pain and take care of all of my dental work. I go back for a bridge in two weeks, so excited.
