Dr. Ghevariya believes in individualizing Internal Medicine consultation. We see patients 18 years and above.

We are NOT a pediatrician or an OB/GYN, we do not perform PAP/ANNUAL GYN EXAM.
We DO NOT provide hormone replacement/narcotics/abuse or addictive medications treatments.
We take majority PPO insurances.
Our practice is not affiliated with any HMO insurances. Please call us before making an appointment if you have any questions regarding insurance.
We do not take Medi-cal insurance and Covered California insurance.
We will contact you after you make an appointment to confirm from our side. If we will not hear from you then we may cancel the appointment.
Preventive visits are valid by most insurances for once a year only but if it includes any medical problems and treatment then it will be considered a sick visit. Some preventive and annual visits may have copay, It really depends on your insurance, sometimes we do not know it until we bill your insurance.
Dr Ghevariya recommends patient centered care so she recommends to see all of her patients in person and do follow up after preventive/annual visits since most of the questions can not be answered well over phone and it can create unnecessary anxiety.
Any visits with any medical problems will be considered a sick visit.
We do not have any financial relations with any laboratories for blood, urine or any other labs services.If you plan to go to one particular lab of your choice you may need to talk to your insurance regarding financial coverage and in-network coverage of
such services before you go since we can not help you out for their lab services.
Any forms filled out will have additional charges since these services are not covered by insurances. It may cost starting from $25 or more depending on complexity of the form.
Please do not expect EDD forms or short term or long term disability to be filled on first visit since it requires thorough evaluation.
We give physical lab (lab of your choice) forms after visit, it will be patient's responsibility to save that form for lab or any imaging work up because if you loose it may create unnecessary delay. We can order labs on line through our computer but if your ID card does not match with the information you provide then it will not be received by lab personal. This is not an office person's error or lab error, it is a system error due to ID mismatch. If it happens you need to have patience since correction may take some time from both side (office and labs). We hope you understand. To prevent this system malfunction we prefer to give physical form instead which can bypass most of the trouble.
New patients are required to bring their photo ID and physical insurance card on their first visit.We may cancel the appointment if we do not have necessary information.

This review is about the nurse/receptionist (not sure what her role is), not Dr. Nehal. Dr. Nehal was friendly and professional, but her nurse/receptionist was not.
The nurse/receptionist (again, not sure what her role is) called multiple times prior to my appointment and rarely introduced themselves (just started asking questions), then seemed annoyed when I tried to clarify who was calling. At my appointment, she then asked me to self-report my weight and height rather than actually verify my weight or height with the tools in the appointment room. I had to ask to step on the scale, which was weird. She also initially wrote down my weight incorrectly.
I also received unexpected charges after my visit.

Dr. Ghevariya is polite and, if you have a simple medical issue or just need a referral or paperwork, she will complete your request without an issue. But if you have medical issues with any level of complexity, she is not interested in helping you figure it out. She won’t look into things or try to problem solve - when I brought anything beyond paperwork, her response was that all I could do was be treated at UCSF or Stanford and she wouldn’t look into anything further.
A fine doctor in many situations, but not a good primary care provider for someone with complex health issues.

The doctor was amazing !! She listened to everything I had to tell her. She came up with suggestions so quickly. The staff weren’t the friendliest people but it didn’t bother me. The wait was less than 15 minutes

The worst experience I have ever had with a doctor’s office staff. ??
Annual check up results will not be provided to you. They force you to book another appointment with the doctor to get your annual results.

I would not recommend coming here. The staff was extremely unfriendly and unorganized. The technology seemed very outdated and the office didn’t look very well kept. The woman who checked me in came and took my pulse. She asked me my weight and seemed shocked and dismayed when I told her. I’m not that heavy at all and found it pretty insulting and made me uncomfortable for the duration of the appointment. Also, they only accepted cash or check which is odd. I tried to make a follow up appointment but the woman booking didn’t seem to know what she was doing. After the 3rd try, I told her not to worry, I won’t be back.

My time with the doctor was fine but everything else was not. My experience:
- The receptionist, who’s also the intake nurse, had zero respect for my privacy when I called to speak to the doctor. She said my full name, phone number, and the medication I was asking about out loud for the busy waiting room to hear.
- I couldn’t speak to the doc on the phone for a quick question. I had to make an appointment.
- It’s been 2 weeks since my appointment and the pharmacy is still waiting on the doc to give second approval. I called the office to ask about it last week and am STILL waiting for a call back.
- when I had my original appointment the nurse commented “oh you’ve gained weight” when weighing me. How about some professionalism??
Their systems are very antiquated. Nothing is online or automated. It feels like stepping back into the 80s. Unfortunately I won’t be returning.

Great doctor who listened to my concerns, shared her own thoughts, and quickly provided referrals, lab work, and prescription for my condition. She was also very conscious of any time she had to touch me to assess my health and clearly communicated how/why she would have to touch me to gain my consent. Very professional
