Neurology and Neurotesting
Dr. Kokoszka received her BS and MD degrees from the State University of New York at Stonybrook. She
completed her internship in internal medicine at St.Luke’s –Roosevelt Hospitals/Columbia College of
Physicians and Surgeons (currently Mount Sinai West/Mount Sinai Morningside Hospitals) and her
residency in neurology at St.Vincent’s Medical Center Manhattan/New York Medical College. She
completed her clinical neurophysiology fellowship at the State University of New York at Stonybrook.
After graduation, she worked as an attending physician at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospitals and then at New
York Neurology Associates practicing outpatient and inpatient neurology and clinical neurophysiology
until the summer of 2015. Currently, she works at Neurology and Neurotesting. Her experience includes
evaluation of outpatient and inpatient neurology patients as well as interpretation of neurophysiological
tests, including EEGs, video EEGs, EMGS/NCS and evoked potentials. She is also skilled at performing
neurological Botox treatments for migraines and cervical dystonia as well as cosmetic Botox injections.
Her professional interests are clinical neurophysiology (neurotesting), headaches, epilepsy, nerve, muscle
and spine diseases, cognitive disorders and general neurology. She is board certified in neurology and
clinical neurophysiology. She is a caring physician dedicated to providing the best care to her patients by
combining compassion with current neurological standards. Patients with any neurological symptoms are
welcome for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment as well as determination whether they need further more
specialized referral.

The problem I had was NOT with the doctor's office, where all were total professionals. The problem is with Zocdoc. I was sent instructions with which to prepare for an MRI, which was not on tap today. I had a brain EEG. I need not have removed my five piercings, nor my denture. That is NOT the doctor's fault, and Gordon, who gave me the EEG, was a total professional.

Dr. Kokoszka was excellent - exactly what I want in a doctor. She was kind, yes, but I most appreciated her professionalism. She took me seriously, asked good questions, recorded the answers on the spot, explained her preliminary diagnosis (probably nothing wrong), arranged for further testing, was careful to check that the tests were covered by my insurance, and arranged for the tests. I was grateful to have a practical conversation with a clear plan of action. When you think you may be losing your memory, you don't want - or I don't want - either sympathy or dismissiveness. I wanted a plan of action. I like Dr. Kokoszka and think that we could be friends under other circumstances, but her practical, "just the facts" demeanor was exactly what I needed for this purpose.
