Recently moved back to ABQ from CA. I've been dealing with chronic LBP since 2017, and seeking intervention has been a nightmare – especially when it comes to pain management.
Night and day difference at New Mexico Center for Pain and Wellness with Dr. Grossetete. The first visit made me realize how much I was being dismissed (on a human level) by previous providers.
Much less anxious about "the next flare-up" and reassured that I have the necessary resources to manage.

I was rushed through the appointment, left crying, medication sent in was dangerous with my current medications and then told I have to wait a month for another appointment for medications

The consult was RUSHED. It seemed that the provider was under pressure to be somewhere else. She didn't even examine me, didn't even do a straight leg raise test, which my symptoms -- pain radiating from the right side of my sacral area, to my right hip, and down the right leg-- is suggestive of a POSSIBLE herniated disk. She simply put me on oxycodone, a muscle relaxant, and Gabapentin and hurriedly gave me an appointment for 2 weeks out.
Two days later, on December 13th, my pain level, in spite of the meds, was still the same as the level I had initially reported to her - a 9 or 10 out of 10 when lying down , causing me to get no more than 2
or 3 hours sleep per night for the previous 9 days. So, at 4:05 PM of Friday, December 13th, I tried to reach her by telephone, but could only leave a message.
After two MORE tries on Monday 12/16 I finally got thru. I told her again of the CONTINUED great sleep-depriving pain when lying down. "I don't know what else to do", she sa

HIGHLY recommend Dr. Moody, first dr. to actually listen to what I was wanting and not wanting to do, and we're on the same page with my treatment. Been without a pain specialist for over 10 yrs because the drs didn't want to listen to me, just thought I wanted pain meds. Thanks again Dr. Moody for listening to me!

I just relocated from another state . I have only been to my first appointment but so far, they got me right in. And Everyone, the front desk, the assistant, and the provider ,Mr. Matthew Moody were all completely compassionate, and helped ease the stress and anxiety of going through finding providers that will listen and be helpful in my daily journey to be as functional as possible! I love that they provide all of the alternative longer terms treatment options, along with my medication management, that I have been doing back home. Botox for my bad migraines, nerve ablation, and nerve blocks.
