The New York Glaucoma Institute was established in 2005 by Dr. Irina Pankova. Since then she was able to build up a highly professional team of doctors and medical staff. Our office is conveniently located in Brooklyn. You will be welcomed by our friendly personnel.
Our goal is to provide you with the personal attention and high quality care that you deserve. We value personal time of our patients very much and constantly working on reducing your waiting time. To help you to use it in most efficient way there is a guest Wi-Fi service available to you.

Dr. Pankova was very nice and friendly. She took her time explaining the testing to me, and answering any questions I had. She recommended some resources for more information on Glaucoma. She scheduled a follow-up visit soon to do a few more tests on my eyes. I would definitely recommend her to other patients.

Great experience. Dr Pankova impresses with her confidence and knowledge. At first you may feel like her tone is condescending, but then realize that she is taking your problem too seriously and makes diagnosis based on only her observation and experience. So far her unique approach is making a difference in how feel today and eases my suffering that lasted several months before I met her. The medical staff and front desk personnel are quite pleasant and professional. I'm happy and hopeful to continue get medical care at this medical establishment. Thank you

This was my first visit to The Glaucoma Institute. I had a glaucoma surgeon that I was very comfortable with who moved his office to New Jersey and I was left to find a new doctor for such a sensitive service. I took a chance on Dr. Pankova and I am so glad that I did!!
She is thorough, professional, kind and very informative. I was nervous, but her entire team were fast, efficient and helped to make my 1st experience with them wonderful. I've found my new ophthalmologist.

Clean office, pleasant staff. The only issue was the wait time, and it’s only because the machine broke and had to be fixed. The assistants and the doctor apologized numerous times for the wait. It was my first visit, so they had to run all the tests. I was assured that the next time it’d be faster. Highly recommend Dr. Pankova’s office.

Dr. Pankova is a good doctor and I didn't have any issues with her. But be warned her staff is incredibly unprofessional and rude. I received my bill for my May appointment in late October. The bill it self didn't explain any of the procedures they were billing me for. When I called to get details on the procedure they were very defensive and rude. I have never been billed more than five months after my appointment! This complicates things for me because I am no longer employed at the company I was working for in May when I had the eye test. The wait time at the office is also pretty bad.

I walked in about 5 minutes late and the minute i walked in, they asked my name, i checked in and less than 5 minutes later i was called to get a work up. The medical assistant and the Doctor were adorable. The doctor explained everything thoroughly, looked me in the eyes, and smiled. Loved the ambiance and I would return again!

she doesn't prescribes eyeglasses so doesn't make a sense if you go there you go just for nothing bcs she doesn't proscribes anything. What kind ophthalmologist if do not prescribes eyeglasses so probably she is not complete doctor yet.

Her office couldn't get their act together to even see me. I waited s half hour and she wouldn't see me because somebody in another office somewhere was supposed to be "looking up my insurance." What does that even mean? If you don't have the capabilities to act like a doctor's office, than don't. I entered all my ZocDoc info online days ago. You'd think they'd have done something then. No, the front desk guy was on Facebook the whole 30 minutes I was there. If I ran a business like this, I'd be out of business.

I was very surprised (unpleasantly) that the practitioner, as an ophthalmologist, did not check (and was explicitly not interested in) the actual acuity of my vision.

I had to travel to her Brooklyn office for treatment this time. I found that office to be a bright, comfortable and pleasant place. Friendly and professional staff are very good at putting a nervous patient at ease. Overall it was a good experience, however, their credit card machine was not set up yet. Even though this is a new office, it's strange to start accepting patients if you can't process their co-pay. Once they figure out the initial set up obstacles I have no doubt they'll be a successful office.
