Dr Webman is very caring to listen to my concern about my hernia. She took time to exam me and explain the procedure to me. At the time of my appointment she reminded me and to my family of what the surgery would consist of and the the process of recovery. Everyone at the hospital was nice and attended. Her staff in Manhattan were also very nice.

Dr. Rachel Webman, MD is an AMAZING DOCTOR! She is very sweet, kind and will listen to you. She will make sure to answer all your questions/ any concerns. She is very helpful during surgery and is very articulate about the process. She will make you feel calm! You don’t find doctors like this anymore. Wait time is a bit long but it’s worth it.

I did not have to wait long; only like 15 min. Then I waited in a room for another 5 min. Dr. Webman spent enough time listening, and did a thorough examination. Was friendly and made me feel comfortable the whole time. She even tried to find a way to reduce the cost of my treatment, which is beyond what I was expecting.

Dr. Rachel Webmen is amazing! She made me feel at ease and booked me for surgery fast. Very caring and informal with a great friendly smile. The wait time is completely out of her control. I would suggest to book her earliest availability.

Dr. Webman is a caring doctor. She goes above and beyond making sure you are healthy, understand the procedure, feel comfortable, and even wants to make sure you are making the most of your health policy (which is incredibly thoughtful!).

Tl;dr: fine doctor, but terrible and unresponsive billing practice. Expect a "large hold" on your card for 7+ months (can't use dollar specifics in reviews)
I visited Peter Hon's NYC office on 1060 5th Ave ~7 months ago for a Proctoscopy exam. After my visit, I was charged a "large hold" on my healthcare FSA card as a placeholder until his billing office negotiated with my insurance on the actual cost of the procedure. Under my UnitedHealthcare plan, it requires a small amount of co-pay for a visit, and a small percentage of co-insurance for a specific procedure. I expected the cost to be MUCH lower than the "large hold", and for it to be resolved fairly quickly from my experiences with other medical providers. This was 7 months ago, on May 17, 2019 and I still have the "large hold" placed on my FSA card.
Throughout the 7 months since, I have repeatedly reached out to Peter's billing office (MD Capital Advisors) to resolve this. Rachel and Lauren have been completely unhelpful in that time. Not only were they consistently unavailable during business hours, but when I was able to reach them, I was told that they sent my medical records to my insurance (and that they haven’t heard back). I kept waiting and checking up every few weeks, all to the same response, leaving me in limbo.
Ultimately, at the 5th month, I decided to call my insurance. United told me they didn’t receive anything from the billing office. I decided to connect my insurance to Peter's office (is this my job?), and it turns out, Peter's billing office used the wrong fax number. I thought that was the end of my problem until I called again sometime last month, and of course I can’t reach Rachel or Lauren, so I contact my insurance. Turns out, they did receive my medical records this time, but what was sent wasn’t enough and they needed more information. Because they didn’t pick up the phone, I was unaware of the status of when or if my more completed medical records will be sent. That same day, I personally sent Peter Hon a message describing my frustrating situation, and as of today (12/4/19), a month later, he has not responded nor has the situation been resolved.
At this rate, I wouldn’t be surprised if this isn’t resolved by year-end. Is it too unrealistic to ask people to be at their jobs and know what’s going on? Given the existing "large hold" on my limited healthcare FSA dollars, I used after-tax dollars on other procedures because I ran out of time and pre-tax dollars. I don’t plan to ever visit Peter’s practice again due to his and his billing office’s unresponsiveness to take care of his (former) patients.

Dr. Hon is very easy to talk to and seems very interested in helping his patients; excellent bedside manner. My only issues with my appointment were the waiting room, wait time, and counter staff. None of these were awful, but all could use some improvement.

Dr Hon was very informative & helpful. He diagnosed & recommended a treatment that he thought was most comfortable & effective for me.

I don’t normally write reviews but Dr. Peter is a miracle worker, I had excruciating pain and rectal bleeding bcuz of an anal fissure that wouldn’t heal. After months of suffering, My pain was finally gone after the procedure Dr. peter performed.

Dr Hon is very personable and explains things well. The wait time was unbearable. 2.5 hours was the average wait time. Some people had been waiting and standing for over 3 hours. They double and triple book patients for the same time slot. It’s absolutely ridiculous patient

The short time that I met Dr. Han, he answered all my questions, was an all around cool guy. I had a "Left Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Surgery". I followed what the nurse and Dr.'s told me a week before surgery and everything came out well. I had no complications, Dr. Han is pro so if your looking for a good surgeon specifically who performs Laparoscopic surgery related to hernias etc. then he's your man. I'm 4 and a half weeks in and I feel great. I'm walking normally, no pain etc. I'm a 33 year old male. Just in case anyone is curious for any reason related to surgery because we all know age is a factor too besides overall health etc. I would like to just say thank you to Dr. Han and that I appreciate what he does for his patients. Dr. Han, Thank you. :) & to all the nurses etc. who assisted as well, thank you so much. Your work has not gone unnoticed.

Once I got in the room, Dr. Hon was efficient and extremely helpful. He clearly presented what the diagnosis was and gave multiple options with how to move forward.

The location where I was waiting was pretty small and had a lot of people. It ain't necessarily bad at all because if there were a lot of people that means those surgeons are in high demand and skilled. I mean people were willing to stand the whole time as long as they had to, that to me says a lot about the Dr's/Surgeons. Dr. Hon was nice and courteous. He was straight to the point which is a plus for me as well. He was cool, asked if I had any questions, made a joke or 2 which made me feel more comfortable, made him easy to speak with. As for the surgery, I'll give everyone an update on that because it's one thing to be nice but its another to know that this Dr/Surgeon is skilled at what they do and that they do it well. I have confidence in Dr. Peter Hon. He seemed confident which is a great sign to me. With that being said I'm happy to proceed ahead. So far, I would recommend Dr. Peter Hon. By the way, he also said he enjoys Laparoscopic surgery so that's also a plus when you want a surgery that's less evasive and that's exactly what I was looking for when it comes to having a "Left Inguinal Hernia". Location was at 1060 and 5th ave. Right across from the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Successful experience! I went to have a potential hernia looked at. My online forms were already accepted before I got there. The front desk was expecting me and greeted me with a "Are you Christopher?" The doctor gave it to me straight and listened to my concerns. She explained what was going on. She also did not push surgery and said I do not need it and we can keep an eye on the site. In a world where everyone pushes surgery, this was a refreshing and positive visit. Will definitely be back.

Dr. Kurian is an incredible doctor / surgeon and changed my life! She's also has a wonderful personality and demeanor - cannot recommend her enough. She's the best!
Carol Z.Verified patient
I saw Dr. Kurian for something other than her normal specialization listed in ZocDoc and she was helpful. What I didn't love is that I had to wait quite a bit for my appointment and while in the waiting room I could hear the entire conversation of her Telehealth appointment with another patient, which I'm sure the patient didn't know about. The office was pretty small and I'm sure even with the door closed in my appointment the waiting room might be able to hear. Overall, I appreciated how she was a "straight shooter" and was very direct, but the entire appointment felt very rushed and she didn't seem to want to get to know me at all. In and out. That's okay given this was a one off issue, but thought others might want to know.

I was informed by phone to be at least 15 minutes before my appointment to complete intake form. I arrived 25 minutes before the appointment to find a sign on the door that the provider would be there shortly. I waited 45 minutes. No communication was provided. After calling several numbers, someone informed me that the provider was on her way in 3 mins. Finally provider showed up and informed me that her assistant had an emergency and had to leave. An appointment that was scheduled for 11:15 turned out to be 11:45.
Provider offered apology and will continue with further appointments.
Recommendations: Assistant must contact scheduled patients to inform of any delay or emergency. Did a 30 minute commute to get to the office.

I had a follow up appointment with Dr Marina Kurian after a medical exam. After 45 minutes of wait, she came in and only spent 5 minutes with me telling me what she think the conclusion is of the medical report. But what she said didn't sound reliable because she did not even have a copy of my report with her, we did not go over the report with me explaining the findings and options to resolve the medical condition I have. I had to ask her for answers. She did a quick physical exam and asked me (again) whether I previously had surgery, which was something I told her the first time we met a month ago. She simply was not prepared to see me. Wasted my time and money coming in. Very disappointed given the star rating she has on Zocdoc.
