Noe A. Rios, LPC
My areas of focus have been depression, anxiety, support with substance abuse issues, anger management, and victims/perpetrators of domestic violence. I have degrees in rehabilitation counseling and cultural anthropology, but some of my best lessons have been my own life experiences. Life has taught me to be human first, clinician second. Past professional settings have included outpatient clinics, behavioral hospitals and the local MHA.
My main approach is cognitive therapy - I believe strongly that the way we think creates the path to how we feel and what we do. It's also important to help clients explore other aspects of their lives like significant relationships, and patterns of communication and doing things - sometimes small changes can make a difference.
I offer a space where you can tell your story and approach problems without judgment. In our first session we talk about why you sought counseling and might identify an initial goal. From there we work on a plan and get an idea of how many sessions therapy might be. You can have multiple goals, change goals if you choose, or stop therapy when you feel ready.
