At Northern Lights Psychiatry & Mood Institute, we provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health care for children, adolescents, and adults throughout New Hampshire. Our multidisciplinary team combines comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, thoughtful medication management, psychotherapy, and innovative treatment options to support lasting stability, recovery, and meaningful quality of life.
We believe treatment should be collaborative, transparent, and empowering. Every care plan is individualized and may include diagnostic assessment, medication management when appropriate, supportive counseling, motivational interviewing, practical skill-building, and lifestyle strategies that support sleep, nutrition, stress regulation, relationships, and overall well-being.
Our services include:
- Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults
- Medication management and supportive psychotherapy
- Individual therapy and counseling services
- Treatment for anxiety, depression, bipolar and other mood disorders, OCD, trauma/PTSD, insomnia, schizophrenia-spectrum conditions, autism-related concerns, behavioral challenges, and personality disorders
- ADHD evaluation, consultation, and non-stimulant treatment options
- Substance-use and dual-diagnosis treatment, including support for recovery, benzodiazepine tapering when clinically appropriate, and naltrexone/Vivitrol services
- Women’s mental health care across the lifespan, including PMDD, pregnancy and postpartum mental health, perimenopause, and hormonally related mood symptoms
- Laboratory and medical workup coordination when clinically indicated to inform diagnosis and treatment planning
- Advanced options for treatment-resistant depression, including SPRAVATO® (esketamine), NeuroStar® TMS, and ketamine treatment options
- Coordination of care with therapists, primary-care clinicians, specialists, schools, and other members of each patient’s support system
- In-person care in Bedford, New Hampshire, and telehealth services for eligible New Hampshire residents

I’ve never been to a psychiatrist before, but I wasn’t expecting much. Angela Peters was so much better than the good I was expecting! She really listened and took everything I was saying to heart, even as a new patient she just met. I was worried that my symptoms might be brushed under a rug but we really scoped out exactly what was wrong and how we were going to go about helping me. She went above and beyond!
