NY Wellness Counseling Services
NY Wellness Counseling Services is a group practice dedicated to making therapy feel more human, approachable, and genuinely helpful. Founded by Steve Alexander, LMHC-D, our work combines clinical expertise with real connection, creating a space where clients can explore challenges without feeling judged, rushed, or misunderstood.
While Steve remains closely involved in the practice, most clients are thoughtfully matched with a therapist on our team based on their needs, preferences, and availability. This allows us to offer greater flexibility while ensuring you’re working with someone who is a strong fit for you.
We specialize in working with individuals who don’t always fit neatly into a box and are looking to better understand themselves, their relationships, and how they move through different environments. Many of the people we work with feel caught between different worlds—culturally, professionally, or relationally—and have learned to adapt to different environments while carrying experiences that others may not fully see or understand. Therapy here creates space to make sense of that complexity and develop a stronger, more grounded sense of who they are.
Our team draws from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and person-centered counseling, while placing strong emphasis on identity, lived experience, and the meaning people make of their roles and relationships.
Whether through individual therapy, couples counseling, or family support, our goal is to help clients build insight, resilience, and meaningful change. With a diverse team of therapists, including supervised graduate counselors, many of whom bring lived experiences such as navigating multiple cultural identities or being first-generation professionals, we are committed to making high-quality care accessible and tailored to each person we serve.
