This provider was dismissive and overall I left that appointment feeling unheard and ignored. I was referred to a cardiologist by my PCP and I went out of my way to research a provider who I thought I would feel safe with. But in the end this doctor lacked curiosity about my health concerns, and was not interested in working with me as a partner or advocate for my health.
The front office people were rude to me at first because I booked through ZocDoc and didn’t have forms filled out already. When I was triaged by the nurse she wrote down my weight wrong by mixing up numbers. When I tried to correct her she didn’t get what was wrong.
Finally during the appointment when I tried to express what I felt like was wrong with me, the doctor repeated she gets similar complaints from other women. So I said sometimes I find it hard to get my unique healthcare questions answered at the doctor’s office, and the doctor responded, “I’m not the right person.” Like what?! I left dumbfounded.

The visit was to cardiologist Sean Mendez, MD for an examination. Overall it went very well, the doctor was pleasant, polite, advised what to do. The staff is polite, communication is very pleasant, they accepted quickly, didn't have to wait long. So I will definitely be back.

Dr. Mendez was great!
My issue was with the phlebotomist (Antoinette) who barely acknowledged my existence and bruised my arm. Additionally, the person at check out was rude and unprofessional, eating while servicing me and dropping F-bombs under her breath because she was having an issue with the printer.

Dr. Mendez is an awesome Cardiologist. He was very patient and took time speaking with me and addressing my concerns. He is knowledgeable and has a wonderful bedside manner. He even called me directly with the results of my blood work. I’m so pleased to have found him and will now see him yearly.

Office staff was professional and super nice. Nurse that called me into office did not introduce himself yet started asking questions about me. He did not go through my list of meds either. As for doctor, he walked in room without knocking and didn't introduce himself either. He throws questions at you and don't give you time to answer. Did not listen to my heart either. Does not explain diagnosis he gave and why. Gives you medicine but does not run tests first. Is not a clear communicator.

Dr. Jou is an amazing doctor. She was very patient, kind, and took the time to answer all of my questions. She made me feel heard and helped ease all of my worries during a stressful time. I never felt rushed, and she always made sure I understood everything. Her support and reassurance meant so much to me. I would highly recommend Dr. Jou to anyone who needs medical care, guidance, or support. She is a wonderful doctor and truly cares about her patients.
