Established in 1971, with 3 locations in NYC and 10 on Long Island which specialize in eye exams, eyewear, contact lens fittings and dry eye treatment. Owner, Harvey Ross has been in the business for over 50 years and the founder of one of the largest eyewear companies. The founder of Viva International Eyewear, Harvey Ross sold the company to health insurer Highmark then launched New York-based optical retailer Optyx with locations throughout New York City and on Long Island. “A great pair of frames can change your character and become a confidence builder.” Ross has traveled the world for an incredibly curated selection of eyewear. The Optyx staff has mastered the customer experience in every aspect. Optyx offers a boutique shopping environment, unforgettable customer experience, along with an impeccable eye-exam. Our skilled Optometrists and Opticians take great care in making sure that our clients understand their eye sight needs. Our Optometrists preform comprehensive eye exams w/DFE and emphasis on excellent refractions. We also preform all types of contact lens exams and surgical co-management. Diagnosis and treatment of red eye. Screenings for cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, blood pressure, medical exams and and Optos and fundus photos.
