Orthopedics and Sports Medicine
Appointments with Dr. Guier's practice require an up front payment of $270, payable to Christian Guier through Zelle to mobile number 307-690-9229 at the time of your booking, for a 30 minute + time slot to be confirmed and held. Without this payment, we will liberate the time for other patients who would potentially like to book an appointment.
Our Accounting Service will provide you with a written followed by an electronic receipt of your visit, which you can then submit to your carrier for reimbursement based on your service agreement with them and my eligibility as an "In" or Out" of Network Provider with your plan.
If you wish to have your insurance billed by this practice, we can refer your claim to our billing service for an additional $20 fee, payable to this practice at the time of your request. The practice will not bill your Insurance Company for you unless you request this service.

Hello.
I am a caring, empathic and experienced and capable Board Certified orthopedic surgeon who has a passionate drive to maximize all treatment alternatives for you in an exponentially changing and challenging health care environment. I have continued my education in the understanding of bone, joint and physical health and how to attain that for individuals of all walks of life. I have over 40 years of practice and learning experience in 5 Continents treating physically disabled children and adults who have sustained the myriad of developmental or acute musculoskeletal injuries. My career has focused on learning from Masters in the education and rehabilitation of bone and joint disease from all over the world.
I see patients in 3 different venues and separate locations in California:
1) in person visits in SAN FRANCISCO at:

2) in person visits in SANTA BARBARA at:

3) can do Telemedicine/ Home Visits using Video/ Telephone/ Facetime or Zoom platforms with patients residing in California, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming, where I hold active licenses in those respective States.
Please be cautious which option you are booking. If you make a mistake and need to change your booking, please feel free to contact Lesly, my Office Manager, at 415-917-7004, to help with rescheduling your appointment.
New patients will also need to upload a copy of a government issued Photo ID, the front and back of their insurance card(s) to the Zocdoc platform and also fill out the New Patient forms that will be emailed to you by Zocdoc, before we can confirm your appointment.

Simply Unprepared for our appointments. After a lot of research I was really looking forward to meeting with Dr. Guier for a lingering back problem I’ve had for a couple years. Both visits (in person and via zoom) were spent trying to recover a password. He didn’t have to access my X-rays or MRIs. He had notes from the imaging center regarding the x-rays and nothing regarding the MRI, which he just skipped over saying he will contact the manager so he can get access to the MRI’s. He said that after my first meeting with him regarding his password problems, that he didn’t solve prior to our second appointment two weeks later. I’m not a physician but it seems like looking at the MRIs and X-rays, or at least making sure you have access to them, prior to your appointments is pretty necessary. I will absolutely be seeking secondary opinions from people prior to making any decisions.

Dr. Guier is a legit physician who not is super knowledgably and a master at his craft, but he truly cares about his patients. Recently he called me out of the blue to see how I was doing after an injury - even though I chose to have a different surgeon do the work (different expertise).

I have a lateral meniscus tear. The doctor referred an MRI and helped me track down the issue. He had some technical difficulties getting the MRI to show up properly but he was kind enough to spend extra time with me with further appointments to try to explain me the issue. Unfortunately, the technical issues still existed.
The part that I am mostly dissatisfied about is not being confident on the solutions that were provided to me. one was meniscectomy. I do not want to do that as it increases the onset of osteoporosis. The doctor was not able to explain me the effects of not having an operation.
The doctor suggested me to get meniscectomy and he'd try to seal in a tear but he expects that to open up again and he expects another surgery and if that doesn't work then finally he'd want to replace it.
I asked him why not just replace it right ahead. He said its not his first preference but did not explain me why.
I do not want to get operated 2-3 times in my knee but of course the doctor wants it.
I just could not trust him with it. I wouldn't wanna go back again.

As usual, Dr. Guier exceeded expectations. My pre-appointment x-rays were scheduled by his office and immediately analyzed by him. He also began my treatment so I didn't have to make an extra appointment. One of the best orthopaedists around!

Dr. Guier was fantastic! Based on my description of the details, he was able to identify the problem exactly (a torn MCL) and demonstrated the problem using diagrams and 3D anatomy models. I was able to clearly understand what I can and cannot do while healing. He also explained a few exercises that I can do to improve the healing. He is super amiable and very proficient.
